Fingerprint scanners are outdated. 3D face recognition is the future.

Am I the only one who don't using fingerprint scanners, facial recognitions, even lock screen? It's aquestion of behavior and trust to your family and colleagues. If you need these things - maybe something wrong with you and your neighborhood?

Does it require to wake up the device with the power button first? If so meh.

Facial recolonization is annoying and slow. Its cool only on paper and in adverts. It should never be consider as a main security option.

Fingerprint reader is enough for phone, because if someone really want to get to your phone files he would not need to even unlock it it would just use computer to force his way to it.
99% of people dont need super security on phone so Fingerprint scaner is enough no matter where its located.

Kudo's to Vivo for this. I always thought it would be Samsung who'd first bring this to market. Given that the S9/+ don't have this, maybe it might make it into the Note 9.

I'd prefer the fingerprint sensor on back rather than front. it's most convenient location when holding the phone. Also it can act as shutter key, very useful when taking selfies.
However, the back fingerprint will hurt when operating the phone on a table. A pattern lock is ok when I keep the phone on table.
Face ID, I don't find it as a good replacement for fingerprint. I use face id in my laptop (Intel real sense camera), it's ok for laptop, but no very convenient for a phone. Because I unlock my laptop 2-3 times per day, but phone over 100 times, each time I don't wanna hold my phone in-front of my face.

It remain to be seen how accurate the reading will be. I believe that a software that require to slide or move the finger will be much accurate because will be able to read the entire finger not just a truncated image. I think that it will be pretty easy to be tricked and remain to be seen if will work with protection screens
