Other manufacturers take heed.. If you've got nothing new to show don't make a new product.. Just keep updating the old one until you really got a new innovation to bring into the market.. This will eliminate the sea of the same phone just updated a year models

If they're start using stock android rather than they're own skin it'll start selling like a hot cake. They have one the best build quality and top notch hardware but a less pleasant software. That's why people don't really look at it. Use a near stock android, at least, and their own camera software (bcs the manual mode is pretty powerful) and you've got a real competitor amongst the smartphone flagships

Question is how will they decide when their phone is needed. It's not like that the consumers will go on strike or initiate a riot if there is no LG phone (that will only happen with Apple unfortunately).

"concerns rise over the supply of lithium materials", so LG want to sell less phones and make less money?
LG no longer care when rivals produce new and more attractive phones so that consumers buy less "old and outdated" phones from LG?

Good move, other should follow. Try to do good innovative phones, not current year phones.

nkwama, 12 Jan 2018No more. G6 and V series have no issue. Yes they do have issues. Stop spreading lies.

The G6 has either a plastic camera lens or a plastic film on the lens. Either way it scratches up like crazy. A couple of hours out of the box and you get tons of scratches.

Just look at jerryrigeverything's video for the G6. He scratches the camera lens heavily with his razorblade. You can see bits falling off.

my colleague's rear panel cracked by itself 10 days after warranty.. and they're charging $1500 HKD to fix it
always wonder if LG put their R&D into figuring out how to break the phone right after warranty...

Good news.

"the plan is to retain existing models longer by unveiling more variants"

nkwama, 12 Jan 2018No more. G6 and V series have no issue. G6 hasn't been out long enough to know for sure.
What is known for sure is that many of the G6s use inferior lenses for the cameras, causing blurry photos.

Avoid LG phones.
