No matter how good their current products are I could never see this as a good thing. Judging from their past attitudes Apple's going to monopolize the market the same way Microsoft does it back in the days. Right now everything's a bit stable one way or another, but whoever wins... *removes sunglasses*, we lose...

[deleted post]"Nokia hasn't announced any plans to bundle Alien Dalvik with the N9, or the N950 for that matter, and we don't really expect it to, but it would great to see Android developers get behind this system, especially for those apps that require a little tweaking for Alien Dalvik to execute them properly."

Just like i say, there isn't really any proof how it work or how well or bad it works. Sounds good on paper, the real use could be so different.

read carefully the final sentence ;)

Who wants a dumb iphone? Useless. I got tired of downloading simply useless apps in an ipod until it broke. Who cares for apps when you need the core of a cellphone? The camera capabilities, the features (HDMI, USB On-the-go, etc, etc), even the phone itself. I don't see the point of buying a cellphone which can't make phone calls. You spend more money than the phone itself purchasing useless apps. That's a dumb iphone in short.

namez bond, 22 Jul 2011totally agree with you on the N-95 issue. that's what my last Nokia phone was, the black 8gb o... morethe n900 is a great smartphone, but it is not seen in public stores unlike the iphone 4.

Pretty much, it is about advertising and marketing the smartphone in public stores.

therock, 22 Jul 2011the n9 is capable of downloading android appsSo you can find them at OVI store, right? i mean where you get those android apps and games, how avarege joe can find and play them? How well they work because those arent made for N9 (no physical button, works different, different optimization), how about disabling swipe for android apps/games? or impelement that swipe.

Is it legal? is it safe?

it is about marketing and advertising the smartphone via cell phone providers. nokia is failing in that department. the iphone4 is seen at apple, at&t and verizon public stores, while nokia's smartphone are only available online.

Nokia isnt going to the top anytime soon..wp7 has a marketshare of less than 1% and its decreasing everyday...people are losing inyerest on wp7 faster than they lost interest on disco...so nokia will be on the 3rd or tge 4th spot behind LG in the smartphone market

I think Nokia should keep developing Symbian. WP will be a bad move. They are doing great job with new smartphones! I got c7 and have to tell it's a great one. Anna will be a great upgrade, so if they'll just keep hard working, i beleive Symbian could go back on track in next 5 yrs. I love Symbian!
