What do you mean you couldn't get a 6 or 6S?
Isn't testing phones your primary business?
Didn't you test both of them already once?
Aren't they still on sale and on display in every electronics store? (yes they are)

to all android noob.... what so big issue with slow down.... ios not same as android ... it only open 1 apps/game at 1 time.... so even very slow down or 512 mb ram is enough..... hahahaha android fan will never understand

They knew from June 2017 and did nothing before launching iPhone 8, 8 plus and X. Why? Maybe to show bigger figures at the launch day? Yes, in my case, on iPhone 8 plus (Geekbench 4) I lost 0.78% in performance. It's (almost) nothing. But if 0.78% is nothing can they refund me (and everybody else) that nothing amount? At least I get a six-pack from this.

Iphone6' speed is no where near Note4 now after its performance was secretly decreased. My Note4 with 20$ new battery form samsung service store still runs all Apps very fast.

Why do people try to make this about iPhone vs Android again? Android fanatics are pathetic beyond imagination! Look, I own both an iPhone 7 and a Note 8, and I can tell easily that the iPhone 7 is a lot faster than my Note 8. However, I feel like I really got my money's worth when I bought the Note 8.
Anyway, iOS 11 is the worst iOS version in my opinion. My iPhone 7 was okay until I upgraded to iOS 11.2.1. Since that update, my battery just kept draining even when the screen is off, when usually it doesn't even decrease 1% overnight.

Bobby, 14 Jan 2018My 6S is showing 130K+ on antutu before and after. Why are your units in the 80k range?Yeah, my old iPhone 6 (and alot of other peoples iPhone 6) are not affected by the patch either so its definitely not because of the Spectre fix as GSMArena is trying to say.
If it was then all units would see this drop and that is not the case. Its much more likely that they did some changes to the battery throttle algorithm in the patch so that some phones that were not affected of it (or to lesser degree) before now got a larger performance hit.

Finished or near to SoCs like the sd845, firmware/software will have to make patches, but there might be a way to mitigate some performance loss.

Does anyone now whether oems will fix this at the hardware stage I.e. qualcomm so that new phones aren't exposed needing a patch? I'm hoping new phones will already have their hardware sorted so they don't have to take a performance hit. But alot of new phones will have built up stock supplies and the fix won't be in them.

Apple:We acctualy slowed down phones but we also added option to turn of patch when in geekbench so youl see same scores after update on iphone 8 and iphone x
