HPe, 14 Jan 2018Okay, grandpa. Let's leave the tech talk to the under 90's, Oki?You mean samfanboys and samfangirls, don't flame on other people here. These new options give people atleast more chooses, so everyone can be happy! :D

I for instance can't imagine to type my whole documents on a touch smartphone even if it has the size of a monitor. And though I could connect a bluetooth keyboard I can also just carry a small laptop with me next to my smartphone, instead of a bluetooth keyboard. Thats i guess what he means with it is a phone to call with.

Flexible screens are also already out for some years. Though curved phones haven't worked out and were cancelled in later generations, except for monitor screens or slightly curved edge screens.
pics or it didn't happen. Bet they even showed of holographic phones that can teleport beer to my fridge. Samsung lies to their customers. My S7 edge is the last Samsung product I will touch.

Of course they're trying to get around the limitations and will be improving the durability in due time. If people kept thinking like you then we would all still be living in caves.
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2018They gonna price it 2000$ what's the use of foldeable mobile. . some people forgot that phone ... moreNobody calls anymore. Everybody is typing and reading ... *that's* the meaning of a foldable "phone". A tablet that can fit in your pocket.
Tablets are ages ahead of phones in usability, their only problem is that you cannot take them with you ... this one solves this.
Samsung wants to make new exploding batteries I guess. Lets bend our phone and damage the battery and other hardware. Also flexibility will also come with less durability. Same with their edge display. It looks modern, but adds a poorer useability, flex less durable, edge bad for watching movies. Everyone follows apple and samsung, but does who are smart buy from other brands like huawei, nokia, lg, oneplus.
Durability and cost will be big issues early on so I don't think anyone outside bleeding-edge tech fans will adopt this initially but I can see the benefit in the longer run. Instead of spending more on a computer (or upgrading the computer as much), I can see myself spending more on this quasi-phone/tablet/computer than a computer.
The main issue, apart from durability, that I see from the rumours is the aspect ratio (admittedly we have no idea what the final one is going to be but it seems like they are going even taller than the current 18.5:9). Super-long aspect ratio is kind of limiting in most current uses. It probably helps with reading websites/Facebook/etc but is kind of tall (or too wide if held sideways) for most software apps. Most HDTV video content is also 16:9 so it doesn't help that much.
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2018They gonna price it 2000$ what's the use of foldeable mobile. . some people forgot that phone ... moreNot anymore. A mobile phone is not a "phone" anymore. Most people spend more time browsing the web (not to mention things like Facebook or Instagram or photo sharing), playing games, updating calendars/notes/documents than calling someone. So I can see a use-case for these larger phones. They will essentially be tablets or modern quasi-computers more than a phone.
They gonna price it 2000$ what's the use of foldeable mobile. . some people forgot that phone is meant to call someone and communicate with someone.
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2018And that is why Samsung is growing as a company while you are just here commenting.Anyway foldable phone won't be perfect just wish you won't be there to praise like God coming... Unless marketing tricks.

Its Actually Great that Samsung is trying to think outside the box and make foldable phone.. on recent years the improvement was only Software and not hardware.. lets hope all the compaines will try to make foldable phone..
