What's the point of making a demo model when it just needs extra resources and rare earth metals to produce? A standard model is just fine to be a demo model.

This phone will fail badly, nothing new and Samsung just copies other companies blindly. Byebye Samsung

Sony's slow motion is the most useless thing ive ever used.. it has to be timed just right..
Maybe Samsung will get it right
I am already looking forward to the Galaxy Note9. I think that one will be a beast as the S9 duos will be a refined version of the S8 duos.
As usual, this device will mostly appeal to those with the S7 or earlier. Could also attract switchers from other Android manufacturers and Apple.
I'll keep my S8 and look to upgrade this time next year when the S10 or the X is due to be released:)
I'm actually intriuged by the Super slo-mo claim... although I wonder how they got variable aperture in a body this thin?
If it does one step better than S8/ Note 8, I'll be happy. Like 720p@480 fps, 1080p@240 fps, or so.
Needless to say, I'm eyeing this one as my next phone...
This phone is really refined version of S8.
It corrected pretty much everything people complained about on S8.
Still, if you own S8 and aren't really rich... you will skip it.
I like my S8 anyways, if I get the opportunity I will buy the S9, just it's unlikley. I'll probably skip it.
Yolokeke, 15 Jan 2018Super slow motion is a Sony thing... Ugh hope they get sued. Crappsuunggg Why
Well done to Samsung for the "Super Speed Dual Pixel 12 MP camera with variable aperture that can take Super Slow-mo videos as well". And plus for the long long awaited dual Stereo Speakers (by AKG). But hopefully it will be a bit better than what the rumours are saying, and so to really be worth it the/an upgrade from the S8 & Note. Let's hope.
Yolokeke, 15 Jan 2018Super slow motion is a Sony thing... Ugh hope they get sued. Crappsuunggg These sony butthurt fanboys omg
First of all samsung is using a 2 layer dram something and is fundamentally different way of doing it then sonys method
Sony did it first
Oh by that logic the first smartphone was not sonys and ooooh sonys copying them by making their own smartphones boohoo
^thats what you guys sound like.....
Smartphones are getting so good at what they do that ofc thell have common features dont be this fanboy please

You are right. I have a S5 and told myself I wouldn't give it up.
I received ... moreYour S5 should be retired immediately, if Not Racist trump would ask you to send it " shiteholes". We need to upgrade our GSM every 2-3 years. Tech is very fast, upgrade is better after 0ne year.
Huawei are good phones, OnePlus, is also good; however in London, there's NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTRE. But Apple and Samsung have excellent centres.

Luxor, 15 Jan 2018First of all, your english is not making sense. Anyway, of course you cant see much difference... moreTo LUXOR:
You are right. I have a S5 and told myself I wouldn't give it up.
I received a Huawei P9 Plus in November last year as a Christmas gift and was a bit hesitant to switch. I have gotten to like the P9 Plus as it has many similar features and even more than the S5 has. I'm right back at home with the Super Amoled screen which Samsung manufactured for Huawei and it has the InfraRed/ IR blaster remote control feature like my S5. Sure the S5 has some nifty little features which I prefer but at the same time the P9 Plus also has a few features which the S5 doesn't have so all in all I give both of them a tie. Sometimes we should welcome change.
If I should state some main reasons why I would migrate from the S5 to the P9 Plus is the fingerprint scanner (100 times better than S5. S6 even S7 scanner) as well as the sound system. The P9 Plus sound system is simply awesome NOT to mention a whole lot louder. Not to mention I'm getting four times the memory (P9 Plus-64GB , S5-16GB) and twice the RAM (P9 Plus-4GB, S5-2GB) and last but not least 3D Touch aka Force Touch aka Press Touch which Huawei introduced to the market FIRST before anybody else with the Mate S (sorry iPhone fans your fruit wasn't the first). The P9 Plus is Huawei's second phone to have it.
There are more reasons but those are the five which tops the list in my opinion. I was a die hard Nokia fan back then...then I became a Samsung fan and now I'm trying Huawei. I used Huawei entry level Y360 for more than a year which my company provided for CUG/ work purposes and while I didn't expect much from that little phone I got more like excellent reception, louder-than-expected earpiece and loudspeaker and reliable operations 24/7. If Huawei's no frills smartphone can impress then why shouldn't their flagship get a nod?
My P9 Plus will be my main phone as of now and my S5 will be my backup phone. I will never forget my S5 though, it was served me for 3 years and 3 months and still going strong (though sometimes when I make or receive a call neither myself nor the other person can hear each other and either person have to hang up and call back in order to have a conversation...sometimes hang up/call back one, two, three and sometimes more times before we can hear each other). I guess my S5 has served it's time. Huawei time.
collateral, 15 Jan 2018What is their in hardware or software just 6 months after N8, except 845 and slow motion. It's... moreFirst of all, your english is not making sense. Anyway, of course you cant see much difference from Note8 that only 6 months apart. However, you should look at S series only. It is one year difference from S8. Dont even look at Note8 as comparison because that is a whole different story. Btw, if you coming from S8 or S8+ please dont upgrade or even consider buying S9. This S9 is more targeted for those coming from S7 and below. Price wise, I would tell you to buy phone two generation older if you looking for something cheap. Any brand of course. Dont just look at Samsung. Other brand exist too you know. Dont be like Apple user who have no choice. We android users have various choices. Open your eyes to other android phone out there.
