you know it's great that you're making your plans, but... they won't...it won't be put to use
I always wonder why they havent done this till now. This is basically using Samsung transparent tv display and putting a camera behind it. Tadahh! All set up. Now, we have a camera behind the display.
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2018dont worry. sony will follow it too. like the upcoming bezelless oled xperia flagshipIn practical usage user have more chance to cover the hidden front camera sensor, just blind fans go overhyped to mislead people to follow the trends. This is same as fingerprint sensor hidden in the screen, people can't easy to use in low light scenarios because they can upside-down the phone without sense which will cause wrong press between fingerprint sensor or front camera sensor. That's why Sony design the fingerprint sensor and volume rocker and dedicated camera button at the right side of the phone to fit hand even in low light scenarios.
MG7, 18 Jan 2018This may give true bezelless. At long last. Apple mostly did it anyway (the notch occupies a dead space anyway)
Finnaly! No more notch.....
How they'll hide the speaker geill thou?
Probably an anniversary version S10 will be completely bezel-less
Jordan Wylde, 18 Jan 2018I've been talking about this for 2 years now. It's about time someone got inventing! interesting, hopefully oppo (selfie king)will be left behind on this feature
AnonD-39937, 18 Jan 2018if this is possible, the quality would be veeeery bad...just how very important are selfies to you?
Yes!!It's about time, this is the solution for an all screen display.I have been wondering when this would come about since EVERY DAMN smartphone owner really needs to take selfies except for me,I could give a shit less.I just want more screen!
And go step further and create multiple cameras for better low light, natural eyes sight(not just top or to middle of phone but to place where are other user's eyes), and for 3D of course.
I can imagine they will out S10 as fully bezelless, benden on all sides(got to look awesome). Other besides samsung I heard only patent from apple with cameras behind/in screen, not sure if its usable as its old patent. Nothing heard from other brands, but first to use that tech may see quite increase in their sales.
I patent the use of a selfie camera that can see clearly through walls!
Heard same about Sony months ago.
That it would come along acoustic surface
AnonD-456831, 18 Jan 2018Technically, selfie cameras has always been sitting behind the screen. lolAbove
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2018yes. oled is the best and have very good future. bye ugly lcdYaa
CM3, 18 Jan 2018OLEDs have been out for a while now but still couldn't replace LCDs. With problems like, burn ... moreYawn. Sorry but over here in reality poked had better refresh rates, lcd can have image retention and ghosting, color accuracy is a matter of calibration And display quality.... not lcd or oled... both can be equally color accurate. .. except oled can show more colors, and had true blacks and better contrast so makes the overall most realistic image.
And of course the better overall power consumption and sunlight visibility, better viewing angels, and ability to take different shapes.
And everyone talks about burn in as if lcd doesn't have lcd related issues that oled don't have worry about. Like backlight issues of out dying or getting weak spots. On average more light bleed too.
And again still can get image retention.
So clearly by actual facts oled is far overall superior in almost every single way and you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
