These phones will only get one major update, like previous models.
They are lowering the price so that, even though their software support and community development is bad to non-existent, people will still buy it. Partnership with XDA was a joke.

Yeah, I'm always afraid of shipping damage, so I usually shop on Amazon. Phone repair is a pain in the ass, especially since I live in the US. I got the honor note 8 and my cousin cracked it a few months. When to phone repair and gave me a $250 quote!!! Phone only cost $520 with leather case and screen protector.

The last resort is international unlocked version, but the catch is no google play installed so you'll have to get it 3rd party way.
