Imagine if you will, in a near future, a phone without fp or any other scanner, but just existing jdi pixeleye lcd touch screen, that responses only to your fingers, and none others... :-)

This is even more awesome if its true that (all) the screen become the fps. The only con I see is if the glass break will it still work? (And the replacement must be more expensive)

Just look back in 2010 and look now. How the tech world has evolved within a few years. I wonder what the future tech world would look like in next 5-10 years. Just imagine.

Basically they just ran over Synaptics, we would need to see how both technologies work.

So this means that the entire screen will act like a fingerprint scanner unlike a fixed location as in synaptics.

Damnn! This is a game changer! Imagine the possibilities of having this on various devices!
I'm just happy this works better than the implementation of Vivo.
Such a plus to have it on any kind of screen. Over time, production and implementation should get cheaper too.
Glad.

It uses pixeleyes, so fp is available on entire lcd screen...nice.
So indeed an Xperia with underscreen fp sensor....nice :-)

If its access and accuracy reaches current level of traditional Fingerprint sensors available, this could be a step further than under display goal which is limited to OLED.
integrate it into LCD Display means more mid range phone to equip the technology.

Good Move!

Nice to see diversity in fingerprint sensor technology this year. Hope they can actually commercialized it and not just all talks.
