You make yourself sound like an idiot when you make comments about a speaker that you have never heard. It might have fantastic audio quality, or it might be distinctly average for the price. It's too early to make ridiculous comment like that. Let's see

JohnDoe, 24 Jan 2018That's a lot of anger from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Who said that... moreYou don't see the word "if" in those sentence? And in this article it does sounds like that Apple aren't gonna be like Amazon echo or Google home that Incorporated with their voice assistant. I mean, what would set them apart from other, unless they're portable and got 4G function, but it is Apple that we're talking about, so I don't think that they would give people that much of thing in one device.

So, again if it does have a voice assistant like all others, how does it make it any difference between other or set it apart from other? As this article also mentioned it and somewhat asking as well!
Amazon did license their voice assistant to third party cause there are other speaker that can use Alexa like Amazon echo (and dot ) etc.
But, Google at this point still making everything on their own. ( Or there are smart home speaker that can use Google's voice assistant and I didn't know).

It is easy to support one or two models than a whole lot of devices. If apple come up with a low price iOS phone at a very low price then I believe iOS market share will rise. It doesn't have to be an Apple device, it could be under a different name but should be powered by iOS. Something similar to what Google is doing with Android One. But Apple can start a subbrand or collaborate or acquire someone like Nokia.
