If you really want to customize your device perfectly, there are other options. Because today even without root you can really change look and feel of device so its not P series cant be modified, there are themes and lots of custom apps that will help you with modding it.

""Then common things like pay, Pokemon, and Snapchat require big work arounds.""

I really have no idea what you mean by that? Those apps dont work on your device? Because they work with any P series device(even on old P8 lite...) If its some limitation of your country or carrier... what phone have to do with it?

""Its a hassel just to enjoy your 500-1k phone the way you choose too.""

No its not a hassel, as I said you can check and even use device before you buy it, I actually spend week with Galaxy S7 before I picked up my P9.
Any normal country and shop give you such possibility(to give back device or test it), if not... well be mad on your country/carrier/shop not device...

Phone is not a candy, its device that you will gonna use probably every day, it dont cost you anything to stop for a moment and think what you want, and check devices that you are interested before you spend any money on it.

P series was never a real "flagship", it was more of that handsome looking device with nice camera.
Its not filled with steroids, its not king of the features or even camera. Its device that "just work" and do that work as it should.

I think its device for people who want most of common features but are not interested in spending every week to install new rom or do daily benchmarks to get better score.
I was one of that person, I spend years modding my phones(xperia, galaxy), but now all I want is good working device that feel nice in hand and have nice camera...

Right now I still have P9, because Im happy with it, so I skipped P10 and honestly would consider switching to p11 if battery on it start going down(only thing that wear out in every device), any other aspect of this devices is just perfect: everything work, I dont cry about updates so Im happy with os version that I have, and I can bet that any P10 owner will feel the same.
P11 will be probably the same and anyone who want proper smartphone "that just work" will be happy with it...

Interesting how Huawei now treats Russian users. P10 now costs 100$ less than honor v10. Every Chinese oem after a while starts to think it's Apple.
