Helio X30 outlast X70... moreP70...it's the P70 not the "X70" which means it is UPPER MID-RANGE.
X30 is their FLAGSHIP from last year.

Great score, but with source code mostly closed, that's not gonna move software development for the SoC more than a couple steps ahead. I have no idea what Mediatek is trying to hide in the binary blobs.

Mm.... That CPU score is too high.... I see getting nerfed to 45K ish... My Guess is that the Helio P70 will reach 120 K points thanks that the Mali GPU is clocked to over 1Ghz

Anonymous, 24 Jan 2018X30 is 2016X30 was announced on Sep. 2016. But it was launched on Feb 2017. It is considered as same generation as Snapdragon 835 of 2017. First phone that uses X30 is Meizu Pro 7 released on Aug. 2017. And it is the only phone that uses X30, till now. So Helios X30 belongs to 2017 MTK product line, not 2016.

X30, flagship offering of last year from Mediatek, was good chip indeed. But it failed to get wide support from phone vendors and is not so successful in market last year. Maybe Mediatek is good at designing chip, but not good at sell it to market and software support like Android device support. Android support of Mediatek/Helio leaves much things to be desired.
And the mid-high range AP like Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 has only limited demand in current market. Demand for mid-low range AP like 625 is much, much higher. And Mediatek is generally famous for dirt cheap low-end AP'S, not mid to high-end AP chips.
So even the benchmark of P70 looks quite impressive, I don't think that it will sell well to phone vendors. Yet another flop of Mediatek like previous failed X30.

Sony XA1 and plus versions also using mediatek and thats Sony jaúpanese company.
Same for L1 also sony with mediatek.
HTC X10 using mediatek, HTC U play as well, HTC desire 10pro too and we speaking about a 500 eur phone
Most of the LG phones also running mediatek.
Dunno what you going to say.
Everything is made in china these days.
Even A11 bionic is made in china by china workers.

I wish Mediatek will stay and evolve and be a decent competitor against Qualcomm, i don't like the fact that the companies are relying on only one resource, competition between these companies will bring much better future for mobiles, one resource means no competition then slow evolution.
