I said yes but I would only do it on the 6s and later as they seem to be the most affected. The newer devices are so fast I would rather keep the stability of my phone and not get random shut downs at 15 or more percent so would keep the throttle there.

For $30, I can replace the battery.

So why throttle the phone or suffer shutdowns?

The real answer - Don't buy anymore iPhones

The question about throttling won't come up.

Apple is a trash brand. Dishonest. Their so-called ecosystem is overrated and just another way to say COMMUNIST PRISON.

              Sent from my iPhone SE

The last iPhone I will ever buy. Support other brands like Sony and LG.

Again... they do. Just do a simple google search and you will find tons of example with people having random shutdowns on their Androids due to unhealthy batteries. It's in no way unique for iPhones.

Yup obviously this poll will be a true reflection of how iPhone users feel. iOS users outnumber Android ppl here... hahaha

I'm just amazed that this is even a thing. Why in this day and age of smartphones would ANYONE have to deal with this??ESPECIALLY after owning a a "High end" smartphone touted as the "Best of the best"It's funny how Apple users just go,oh well, just what we have to do cuz Apple says so.For what the phones cost, this is utter bullshit.I'm not trolling or anything so don't get all butt hurt.I have just never seen this in the market,EVER!!

I am pretty sure Apple will make it so that if we do it will punish the battery and we will end up with phones that need a battery replacement after 1 year. And the replacement will not cost just 30 $. Unfortunately this is what is expected of Apple these days. iPhone is Apple’s cash cow and they will do whatever to make people buy it or fix it more often. If anyone from Apple reads this: you don’t have to make a fool of yourselves by making phones slower and more fragile or macs that are unserviceable. Most of us upgrade our products every few years anyway even despite them working well. So people are more likely to buy your products again and again if they think they are worthy and also more likely to get something else if you keep this nonsense up. The only reason I still use some of Apple’s products is because others have lowered their standards as well. In this day and age it seems us customers are respected only until we pay for the product and afterwards you just have to pray you don’t have problems with it.

There should be an "I'll try it first" option.

Why vote "no"? Because if my iPhone, a device over $500 and which I need fully working, starts shutting itself down because of the battery issue, you can be damn sure I won't disable the CPU throttling if it allows me to keep using my phone reliably and I only have to wait like 0.5 seconds more for it to open something. If my iPhone still does what I need it to do reliably in 2 or 3 years time or until it gives out, I don't see why I should spend money on a new phone, it's not like they're cheap.

If the New iPhone release then the 'throttling' maybe come back, you know it could be a marketing purposely.

You either don't use that shit or go get your battery replaced. I'm sure someone is going to start explaining to me how he's gonna use a mod that makes phones laggy and basic users think its time to buy a new phone.

It is definately more beneficial to battery and user, unless the battery has become completely useless like 20% capacity

I hate everything about Apple and iPhones, would never buy/use an iPhone.
But i prefer lower cpu speed in exchange for better battery life. But on the other hand didn't Apple cripple more things like speaker loudness? In that case i would disable it in an android equivalent (Which is usually the case. Most "battery saving" options are pure crap and cripple your phone too much instead of just lowering cpu speed which really doesn't mattery for everyday work, at least with flagship cpus), otherwise no, i'd always keep it turned on. I'm not gonna dig bitcoins with my phone and i don't intent to use photoshop on it. It doesn't need that much power.
