Basically 3 points: first- hopefully it will be true. second- I was hoping so, that it was just a selling strategy from Xiaomi, so people would buy more Redmi 5 Plus (mostly) thinking that it will be instead (replacing) of the Redmi Note 5. Then eventually cooking out the Note 5 & so making even much more sales. And third point, if hopefully (again) this will turn out to be true and with those specs, most probably it will be another great success. Because for Xiaomi fans, customers of that segment & in general too, it will be the phone that they were looking/hoping for...

The Camera combination 16+5MP is similiar to J7plus 13+5MP, so its probably just for bokeh effect. I Kinda hope its more like the MIA1 but cant complain cause its cheap.

That's more like it, SD 636 is better than the ageing 625 the Redmi 5 currently boasts of.

yeah...slightly increase the price..

but for less $200...im stilllll "OK" with that..

as long the cpu performance can reach 5000 Geekbench
scoreline and beat the Snapdragon 820 .

And also a bigger battery is a PLUS..

Anonymous person, 25 Jan 2018So now they are increasing the price...That's because the SD636 is a new processor. They just announced it months ago and now Qualcomm is releasing it in small amounts. I don't think they'll mass produce it like the SD625.

Thank god. If Xiaomi had killed off the redmi note line the support they struggled to build would have gone down the drain instantly

You guys over at GSMArena should change the conclusion of your Redmi 5 plus review. In that you basically treat the Redmi 5 plus as though it is the Redmi Note 5. Perhaps it would be better if you waited until the actual Redmi Note 5 is released in India.
