Looks its your opinion against mine we can argue each other forewer or we can say phones are equaly good. Because as you have proof your samsung still orking like brand new i can say that to my Lenovo Vibeshot or my new Moto X4 i told about in chat earlier.
In past Samsung were a good company when they havent put fingers in almost everything.
Soon we will see even a cars outside with a Samsung sticker on it same like Sony would do. After maybe 50-100 years will Samsung buy all existing competitors and they will start rule over the world like Kim in KLDR.

You don't have to be very wise to realize that cheap stuff is often cheap for a reason, China does offer cheap labour, but those companies are basically slave owners even for China standards! Then spyware issues, the ones like Huawei aren't banned in USA, Australia and other countries without a reason. Everyone wants to make money, that involves your beloved china manufacturers too.
Then, your best argument is that I'm 12, yet you have no idea what you are talking about, and are hiding as "Anonymous"...

Now this is purley FALSE information! I had cheap phone once and it barley lasted a year, my coworker ordered one and right out of the box it came with broken speaker - NO SOUND!
I know lots of people who had their china phones thrown in the trash in about a year! Yet I know some people who still use their Samsung Galaxy S3!
And I know that right now you think to write: "Apple and Samsung are assembled in China too" which is really a poor argument, if argument at all, because you can't compare them to junk like Lenovo...

Similarly the SoC is twice as powerful as anything else in the market.
Both of those features are at least 2 years ahead of the rest.
The camera is top notch too (it *was* a jump in image quality, granted it didn't happen to iphone alone, Pixel 2 and Mate Pro also had a similar jump, but the innovation was there)
Lastly the all-screen design was basically a first. The only other notched "almost-all-screen" design was attempted by the Essential Phone which was hardly available. So iPhone X remains (to this day) the only phone with no bezels (it still has a notch *and* chunky boarders, but is closer than any other to the "whole screen" look).
Even if you take it independantly iPhone X was a great push for the phone industry as a whole. Rarely do phones get so much better so fast. 2017 was a bad year for androids but not for tech development at large...

Even if Apple DOUBLE their price, the impact is merely 5% less than half of the actual price impact, and they didn't double the price, the ASP grew less than 10% - behind market total.
So on the contrary, iSheeps are dragging the price behind, without Apple, the average increse will be HIGHER.

I'm sure you are whining about software updates while also expect low price, because you think anything other than manufacturing costs nothing.
Even the $250 figure is base on vast volume. If half of the people stop buying, it'll be $300+ to manufacture.
The price are rising because components are more expensive, namely the DRAM/NAND/Display are more expensive due to shortage. Expensive phones like iPX won't make a dent in global market. It certainly won't have any measurable effect on the biggest market - China, where the price have risen 12% YOY, and *Apple+Samsung combined* can't even make top 4.

People expect iPhoneX to sell as wll as iPhone7, but some people buy iPhone8 instead of iPhoneX so it seems to be slow sell...
So next phones can be more expensive and people still buy them!

i think the main reason for the record shot up of average price for phone currently is due to the introduction of iPhone X. As the pace setters they will continue to determine market price and we can do nothing about it. The system is such that we want to impress people around us especially the ladies but that is not all, it is also about business when you buy and phone and the next day you want to sell it back, how much are you going to get? Now if you have an iPhone you are very sure of selling it at least 75% of the original price.
However, if it happens to be other brand you are most likely to get 60% of the original price.
Brothers lets also take into consideration the timing of been able to resell your phone should there be any emergency to do so. Again the brand with the highest consumers will do the trick. So when we talk about pricing a lot come into play and the very basic economic phrase is here to stay the '' the higher the demand the higher the price.
There is nothing we can do about this , this applies not only to phones but all the other popular brands in every product, viz Bose, Otter Box, Gucci, Rolex, Rolls Royce, etc

If people stopped buying such expensive devices that only cost around $250 to make then this wouldn't be happening now. A flagship phone was only around $400-$500 back then. Now they cost more than some brand new scooters!

Except the face scanner, of course, but i refuse to buy a phone with a fingerprint scanner, let alone the face scanner. Next year they'll be asking you for a blood and semen sample, so you can unlock your phone.
Everything else, we already have it.

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2018So we clearly see here how greedy the manufacturers are and how they are ripping us off.No, no Jack. Let's agree that the problem is with the stupid people willing to pay so much for a phone, not the brands that ask so much.
In Germany for example, let's say there's product X which a lot of people want but the price is too high. NOBODY, but NOBODY will buy that product until the price goes down. That's how people with a functioning brain act.
Don't blame the brands, blame the willing morons to pay so much for a phone just to impress the ladies because they don't have the looks or brains, so they try to compensate with what they can.
