The side mounted fingerprint scanner is better to reach with biometric data protections.

Another gimmick that 99.9% of customers will never use. Phone manufacturers have reached the end of the present technology so the only way they can convince you to buy their latest offering (which is just a rehashed version of the last years one) is to add things like iris scanners. I for one don't wish to be seen in public frantically waving my phone in front of my face trying to unlock it. I recently purchased a OnePlus 5T and my index finger naturally falls in the rear mounted fingerprint scanner as I pick it up, so it is unlocked by the time I look at it, and that suits me fine.

I think a fingerprint scanner is more than enough. The face ID or iris scanner is detect only one person's face or eye diometric data, but the fingerprint scanner can save up to 5 fingerprint biometric data meaning when you get wrong posture of face or eye position the Face ID or iris scanner will fail the detection, but with fingerprint scanner you can change unlock between your 5 finger because it can save up to 5 biometric data.

I never managed to get iris recognition working at all on my S8+. So for me face unlock and fingerprints together would be perfect. I can't see someone fooling both methods together.

This is the highest height of fanboyism. Many reviews show that the iPhoneX face ID and face regcongnition in OnePlus 5T works better than the Iris scanner on the note 8. There is even one review done in Phone Arena where the others work okay in bright light light and also in the dark but the Iris scanner had problems working in those conditions.
But on the question of security, I think the Iris scanner and in some level the face ID is more secured than the face recognition on the 5T because of the tech used.

i can buy as many as samsung high end smartphones but i wont buy why its not my thing its not on my list of smartphones. i'd rather buy other brands out there.

All the difference is the screen and I don't want... moreIf S8 is in good condition go with it otherwise s7edge is great too (and it has better fingerprint placement) and mate series are not sh#t and V30 is not much hard to repair comparable to s8 and V30 has stronger back glass though front is.weaker or you can go with sony xz premium
