Anonymous, 30 Jan 2018LG OLED is crap you need to check there OLED lg TVs thereĀs screen got burn in very easily it... moreLG's TV panels are market leading, leaps and bounds ahead of Samsung. All OLED suffer from burn-in, so that's not really a valid criticism.
As for their phone panels, the one time they were bad was when Google decided to scrap all Quality Control measures. The LG V30 panels didn't have the massive issues of the Pixel 2 panels.
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2018Amoled is active matrix oled. P-oled is active matrix too. TVs are not active matrix. ... moreTV's are also active matrix. Basically all OLED panels used today are the plastic active matrix variant.

S8 User, 30 Jan 2018It's time for Sony users to see some of LG quality like the users of Google Pixel 2 XL did xDSony will only receive the panel, not what lies under the hood. Sony will handle the rest.
AnonD-244086, 30 Jan 2018I think super amoled is thinner than oledAmoled is active matrix oled.
P-oled is active matrix too.

Its a very typical t... morejap's sony is very slow. they tried to make the best of the best displays (rgb jdi oled) but always missed the target. keep delaying it again and again.
in the end.. they lose the competition to samsung.
i know what will happen next..
by the time rgb jdi oled ready for mass production, samsung will have implemented a better new kind of display. sony will lose again
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2018The RGB OLED burns in faster than PenTile OLED.correct!
this is the reason why samsung uses pentile oled. to make it last longer.
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2018The RGB OLED burns in faster than PenTile OLED.One just cant decide which OLED type burns in faster right?
This oled tech is "on fire" all right.
It's time for Sony users to see some of LG quality like the users of Google Pixel 2 XL did xD
Too bad, except motorola x play with sunlight about 3500, xperia lcd's also has the best non oled. Quality impresive, so why switch to oled with burn in issue?
AnonD-39937, 30 Jan 2018Why Sony isn't using their in-house OLED panels from JDI???And this:
Real rgb strip OLED with 3 subpixels.
Said to begin mass producing in first half of this year.
Guess those will be available for Xperias in September release.
YalokIy, 30 Jan 2018Sony "spartans" prefer their old IPS, please no OLED for sony!
Personally, ... moreI challenge you to find me OLED small panel which is better than LCD currently in XZP.
Every single OLED panels I've seen from early Galaxies to iPhone X is utter crap when it comes to white. It constantly shifts from blue to yellow, it has some yellow stains if brightness is not high enough and it flickers.
I have no clue how small OLED had become a standard which such inferior picture quality. It was nothing but fad that have caught on and now people just have it on their spec tickbox.
OLED on TV panels is something else and that's where LG Signature is leading the field. But again we are talking about LG Signature $7,000 and up TVs
