I'm writing for a Xiaomi news blog and this week I had to write about the new store in Italy. At first I was not happy with the information, so I inquired a little more and ended up in a kind of investigation hahaha.

The story is a little long, but it is better to wait until they also make the official announcement of that store in Italy too. I do not like to write about something that does not have the exact and true information.

Every Xiaomi website assigned to a different country or region goes something like this "mi.com" in the US, or "mi.com/in" for India or "mi.com/es" for Spain, the latest country they've officially added to their portfolio last year. They have it like "xiaomiromania.com". If its not fake news, it's just a retailer that specializes in Xiaomi products. Also, I read this morning on a local blog, you can find it as by searching "computerblog". The guy asked the local official partners of Xiaomi and they said it has nothing to do with the company's official plans. But they said an official store is on its way.

I hope I answered your question.

It's not Xiaomi. It's a local retailer, it has nothing to do with Xiaomi's plans to expand globally. It's not going to be a Mi Home store as does in China, India or even Spain. It's just a local retailer trying to get some publicity by taking advantage of Xiaomi's expansion plans. I'm quite sure if this had anything to do with the Chinese company's plans they would opened a store in the capital, Bucharest. Don't get me wrong, Sibiu its a nice provincial town. But it doesn't compare to Bucharest. Not to mention that Xiaomi opened brick and mortar store in Athens and Madrid, the capital cities of Greece and Spain. So why would Xiaomi proceed differently in Romania. So don't promote this local business too much.

AnonD-39937, 31 Jan 2018ok, but I'm not planning on buying anything made by them anytime soon.Rather Xiaomi than Sony for example. At least here i pay for a phone when in other cases i pay 20-40% extra money for a company logo prited on a phone.
At least xiaomi sells like a hot cake even without any advertising in TV in other cases every 20-30 minutes we have to watch stupid advertising of some super expensive phones from toehr brands which couldnt sell even a 100pcs without marketing, promotions or advertising.
                  Thats my honest opinion.

I am not telling xiaomi is best brand out there but they becoming most famous because for a reasonable price you get a good quality device instead of some other brands where you pay for a sticker with name of the company and this sticker cost like 25% of phone value.

Good quality competition for affordable price in the markets, where a lot of costly Samsungs/Sonys etc. are sold.
