Not ok!
Every phone should/must get at least security updates for the expected entire "built in" lifetime of the phone! Today's flagship phones are so extremely expensive that only 2 years updates is far from acceptable!

2 years may sound like a long time but you’ll never realize until the phone stop hitting by updates.

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2018Don't really know why you're bringing Samsung in here when Sony is the one being discussed. Di... moreNot really... was just trying to keep you busy. Now try remebering and recognizing all those since it seems to be an issue. Start with the bigger issue first. You can't claim to only see a mouse when an elephant is also standing right there, you know what people like that are called on today's earth. And the classic "why are you bringing samsung into this", aawwww... So you totally got my point, nice. Now I feel bad for you, I'm sorry.

To the guy who for no reason says sony names and phones are hard to recall, this number is for you... Enjoy

That's why I always choose the flagship, the midrange has it hardware limitations to bring out a STABLE system updates, but Sony still update for ensure the most stable android version among the competitors because it crash rate is the lowest.

wooty, 01 Feb 2018After reading this, I would strongly affirm that only fo0ls would still throw their support to... moreSamsung update always unstable, you get plenty features that cause the software updates always have flaws, especially for mid-range and entry Samsungs.

AdamBoy64, 02 Feb 2018Two years is not long enough?not enough, given Sony is one of the most reliable company who provides major update more than 2 years.

I am z5 user, typing the comments on it right now. This is my 1st and last Sony phone bought in April 2016. Recently no update at all for over half a year, no Oreo, no security patch. Correct me if I am wrong here, Oreo came within 2 years from z5 launch date in 2015.

Meanwhile my XZ has not had a security patch since October. When I check for a update on one hand they tell me my phone is up to date, and then they link to a notice from October detailing the release of Oreo for the XZ. I'm still stuck on Nougat.
