Not impressed. The new version of Oreo uses more battery. And the display of the time on the main screen with the hours ABOVE the minutes is the stupidest thing ever displayed on a computing device.
Always makes me laugh when phone owners from OTHER manufacturers make the effort to comment on Samsung forums, trying to knock anything, be it the brand, it's latest phones, software update rollouts, anything, you'd think it'd just be Apple but no.
Competition is a good thing.
Regarding the Samsung 9. Oreo update, as I understand it:
S9's come with it already.
S8's now have it.
S7's rolling out now.
S6's getting it after the S7 rollout.
So I've had 6. Lollipop, 7. Marshmallow, I'm on 8. Nougat & soon getting 9. Oreo (it doesn't bother me that it's late, as long as we get it in it's usual smooth bug free beta tested state).
+ we get monthly security fixes.
Looks pretty good to me, I don't know what you got on your Sony's, etc?
Regarding the 1st comment:
'Still no dark mode for OLED phone?'
Not sure what your talking about, on Samsung broser, I just press the 3 vertical dots in the top right hand corner to get a menu, select 'Turn on Night mode', job done.
Anonymous, 13 Feb 2018What's your Xperia problems? Tell me your story if not I consider a fake user. Oh wait.... Don't tell me. I'm psychic. You're reply well be or would have been to now tell me i am a fake user and blah blah yada yada hater because i called you out instead of giving you exactly what you demand.
Youre welcome. No charge for this reading.
Anonymous, 13 Feb 2018What's your Xperia problems? Tell me your story if not I consider a fake user. Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! The story is clearly there. And these are clearly facts that any Sony user or person from the real world knows...
But if idon't give further details in the exact way you want to hear. . which who knows what combination of facts and fantasy i have to tell to gain your trust.....
Then i am fake!??? Lololololololol
You're funny there in your little delusional world.
Anonymous, 02 Feb 2018The only kid thing here is your immature and misinformed comment. All phones and tech lag so... moreWhat's your Xperia problems? Tell me your story if not I consider a fake user.
AnonD-734843, 03 Feb 2018I really hate a toolbar above the numeric key. I hope it colud be turned off. -_-I agree
Aspros, 05 Feb 2018Bixby is devil incarnate, the best thing Samsung did, was to give us the option to disactivate... moreI have the S8 and you can turn off all kinds of text suggestions and/or corrections. Don't blame the phone for something that you don't know how to do.
AnonD-723538, 05 Feb 2018cant compete with gboardThe hell it can't lol
If this is confirmed, the same thing happens with TouchWiz in versions 2.2, 4.1, 4.3 and 7.1 of Android: it will remain basically the same, with few relevant additions to features, and no update in the design (not even the icons, which it's rare)
That is, anyone who is using Samsung Experience 8.0, 8.1 or 8.5 will not miss Samsung Experience 9.0 very much if their device stays on Android Nougat.
Maybe even those who have a Galaxy Note 7 or Galaxy J2 Prime on TouchWiz Grace UX (7.0) are not missing out on much, even while still staying on Android Marshmallow.
Bixby is devil incarnate, the best thing Samsung did, was to give us the option to disactivate it's button! And their keyboard is horrible, they had me install gkeyboard instead, mostly because they don't support slide without auto correction, do not support 160 characters In my language, for sms and are limited in only 70 and finally because they hate black themes for a reason... And since they didn't fix that, the changes are completely irrelevant!
S8 User, 04 Feb 2018Considering what they offer and the money they expect you to pay - you might be better getting... moreConsidering what they offer their derive is overall much nicer, does more, and definitely still costs less. Oh wow. The iPhone camera is slightly better.... And more fluid?? Lmao
Anonymous, 03 Feb 2018Sony may have their short comings...the sudden death being my main gripe. Byt their design and... moreConsidering what they offer and the money they expect you to pay - you might be better getting an iPhone, if you are going to overpay something, atleast overpay for faster, more fluid device with better camera and etc...
Anonymous, 03 Feb 2018Well regardless of whether its them or you everyone needs to grow up and accept a little reali... moreSorry but your reply to this is unlogical, since you didn't argument any of your statements. You just blurted it out, and left it as it is.
And finally, release has been getting closer for months now, yet it's still not here, and it's not too close either. This is of course not a dealbreaker, and S9 will come with latest OS out of the box, which is indeed really nice.
