LCD and "little" bezel may not be not the best start, but thats not all there is to a phone.

But still as simple consumer with all this tech I just need something that works for me! And so far the Lcd tech is still used by most top manufacturers like, Sony, HTC, Apple and Huawei and they just work fine! As I stated earlier Lcd has improved so much now they can achieve deep blacks almost just as Amoleds although they still can't beat amoled on the deep blacks. So i guess it also boils down to someone's preference, as for me I don't like the over saturation and unrealistic colors of amoleds. I just prefer seeing real representation of accurate colors, but to many people they like the pop of Amoled screens so as I said it's subjective. Just pick your medicine and be satisfied with it!

LCD tech has been around since the 80s. There's not much more you can do to improve it. The main drawback of LCD, is the comparably high power requirement. That's primarily associated with the need of the backlight to light up the entire area behind the screen. That could be partially mitigated by using the LED backlight array. Still, even in that scenario, individual LEDs have to run at full power. Now for the screen itself - in order for it to produce black color, it actually has to use power to align crystals to block the light, so if a color is almost black - you have a cell that's running at nearly full power, and either a backlight, or LED backlight cell that's also running at full power. Think of it as 150%+ of power being used per pixel vs pure white or pure black.
OLED consumes way less power and is much easier to control. What you have is an RGB or RGBW LED Array, and brightness is controlled by a direct application of power. Black = power off, while white means full power (100%).
OLED also has a much wider color gamut.
The only issue in OLED, and that is primarily due to the chosen design, is if the pixel well is too deep, your high angle of view color reproduction suffers.
Ever since the first Galaxy S, OLED has also been consistently better in bright sunlight vs LCD counterparts.
Egash Josh, 05 Feb 2018I guess you live in planet Mars! Do you have any idea that U11 is the most beautiful phone rig... moretrue. i've one htc u11 and all people that see the phone for the first time, they alway are intrigued about the phone, because its so beautiful in real life. Even people with iphones, samsungs s8, etc loves the looks of the phone. again in real life not in a photo.
Skynet.2020, 05 Feb 2018Htc ugly 12I guess you live in planet Mars! Do you have any idea that U11 is the most beautiful phone right now? And U12 will not be any different other than stellar!!
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2018Please, bring back 16MP selfie, not the 8MP again. 8 is shittyDo you know that more MP won't make your s***ty selfies any better? Look for a better sensor and lower f for low light shots.
Ehm, that's the speed giga lte can perform. 5g should be faster than that.
If it doesn't have 3.5 mm headphone jack again like its predecessor, total fail. They never wanna learn from their mistakes. Ugh.
Cirov12, 05 Feb 2018Crapmoled and p OLED at the moment it's garbage, the Oled I want to see is the next one, I hop... moreUmm.. Why is super amoled garbage??, it has been used by various mobiles for last 3-4 years, give P-oled some time to improve, 4k resolution is just waste of time, since content available is much less
njsfer84, 05 Feb 2018Why the hell do you need 5G internet connection? 800mbps for what? Streaming live, 4k raw vide... moreWell, 5G will be more beneficial for battery consumption at the moment 4G is draining your phone battery and new 5G technology will improve that, plus fix the coverage, so no more flaky connections... Speed is the last thing that you'll notice, probably experience while browsing will stay the same, but your whole phone experience will get better, no connection glitches, longer battery life...
I suppose everybody talks about speed as this is the only thing that is really measurable :)
They never gonna learn...why they can just cut these MASSIVE bezels and put pure android. Whole android word is waiting for something similar but now another fiasco before they even released.
mazen3ssam, 05 Feb 2018LCD again !!!! it's 2018 HTC ! Bring us AMOLED or P-OLED like the other competitors !Crapmoled and p OLED at the moment it's garbage, the Oled I want to see is the next one, I hope it's 4k Oled rgb sony
mazen3ssam, 05 Feb 2018LCD again !!!! it's 2018 HTC ! Bring us AMOLED or P-OLED like the other competitors !I actually prefer the realistic colors of an LCD display. Especially Apple and Sony have the best LCD displays. I donÂ’t like AMOLED at all, that piss yellow color in the S8 while it should be pure white. Makes me vomit :)
mazen3ssam, 05 Feb 2018LCD again !!!! it's 2018 HTC ! Bring us AMOLED or P-OLED like the other competitors !Not all flagship phones will just be using amoled, actually LCD has its benefits too! And the technology on LCD is improving very fast. Now you can get deep blacks with LCDs in years to come we won't be having this debate of Amoled vs Lcds!
