All I see is a 1ghz processor that lags on a facebook app (could there be a lighter app to test this?) as much as my Nokia 5800 (with a 400mhz processor) does.
After purchasing my 5800, I vowed never to get a nokia again. For a second there I thought I might change my mind, but then I saw this video. I'd love to see Nokia standing up again, but sticking to symbian, an OS they already abandoned and told all devs to do so, or going to windows, without a real decent hardware... won't happen. Now they have a half finished NEW OS, that I'm not sure any developer will stick to.

More power isn't going to hurt. Infact, the 680 MHz is enough was started by Nokia fanboys on the defense of their favorite brand. It got repeated over and over across different forums that Nokia fanboys started to believe it was the truth.

So symbian doesn't need a 1GHz CPU yet Android does? Nokia fanboys such as yourself have always claimed that Android is a power hungry os, even though most low end Android devices run on Qualcomm QSM7227 which is about 4 years old and yet when those devices lag you cry that they are underpowered and Android needs more resources and you need to spend $500 to get a "decent" running device.
ROFL so because this device lags you say its a feature because it lacks a GPU so therefore it is not underpowered? Your logic is hilarious, by your logic, I can sell my laptop from 2005 which runs on an intel igp meaning it doesn't have a real dedicated GPU and I can claim that when framerates drop in new generation games its not due to lag but its a "feature" built in? HAHHAHAHA you're funny dude. This device lag, it is not a feature plain and simple. How do you know that the device just simply couldn't handle running all we were shown was a couple minutes of the device so you don't know for sure it will lag due to running processes eating up resources.
Obviously you're severely hurt by these comments that other users are posting which is why you capitalize your text which is often used as a scream on the internet.

lol at ALL who says negative about this phone. Is that because you've seen the fb app lagged? There is an app called fmobi that replaces(although not the deep integration) that app. Don't expect so much on a budget smartphone. You all just want to destroy the image of Nokia.

Symbian doesn't need a 1ghz processor to run. Lags experienced in the symbian interface are not due to them being underpowered but due to bad coding. Symbian dates back to about the 90s when high capacity bateties costed a fortune. Its built from scratch to be power efficient.
The only reason why nokia is including 1ghz processors is just for marketing.
The current line up obviously run fine on 680mhz and a gpu.
THIS DEVICE DID NOT LAG. What it experienced was a drop in framerate. Its just like scrolling in s^1 devices menu. the frame rate is reduced to 15 fps because of the lack of a gpu. In other words, its a feature (a bad one but thats what you get when you pay 150 euros) in the application. If it were due to it being underpowered, it would become slow and lag.

it is not supposed to be a top notch galaxy/iphone fighting smartphone, it is just what nokia does and sell to the rest of us, why do you think they are the cell phone market leader?, on my way up from 'just basic phones'to smart ones i would not mind one

everybody got their own ideas of what is the perfect phone for THEM, not for EVERYONE, if you hate NOKIA so much, why on earth do you even bother to participate in bad-mouthing NOKIA? yeah, sure, Nokia got weaknesses of their own with their phones varieties, with their management decisions on Symbian, with their decision on focusing more on WP7 instead of MeeGo, but, it's up to us, the so-called Nokia Fan or Fanboys to decide, not you, if you don't like Nokia, or a turnover from Nokia fan into so-called user of better phones, then don't go around Nokia's discussion.
come on, you have your own preferences, let us stick with our own preferences. there are still market for this kind of phone, there are still those out there who didn't really care if their phone got dual-core or not, for a lot of people, and i mean A LOT, are satisfied enough to have a stable phone, good battery life, easy to use on calling out or taking calls, read and deliver messages.
i know, because i am one of the people. challenge me on what I WANT, then you'd declare yourself an ignoramus.

By the way nokia needs dedicated members like u who are always with nokia in their good as well as bad times . People like u have helped $150 phone defeat Galaxy S2 interms of daily interests . The back panel is a bit curved.
That sort of design is copied from se phones.
1ghz aint much as it seems, gsmarena is saying so that its still a bit sluggish..
Nokia should be using the better os, meego against androids and not trying the out of league, nhd limited, 720p limited, c++ based, symbian.
