Basically this shows, apples improving each year. Samsungs cameras are sharpened and that the S8 takes better pics than the note 8. Google phones have a soft capture and only got good after the Nexus 6p. Sony cameras are just trash, only half decent in the day time. Huaweis camera quality is bright and clear.
AnonD-730705, 18 Feb 2018This shows that Sony is a total waste in the smartphone industry. At least they stayed quite relevant in the field unlike u irrelevant human being talking hate here...
Anonymous, 18 Feb 2018WTF is going on with Sony cameras. They look like they're 3 years behind the competition. Ever... moreNop xperia phones destroys everyone in camera, especially in video and stabilization.

Etc etc.
Just go to the tool and compare XZ1, iphone X and Pixel 2.
Scale 12MP to be easier to see.
Choose Sponge Bob or money bill.
XZ1 is way better.
I expected to see some N95 shots, guess I'm too old to think of that phone! Lol
Some pictures show that it's not the latest that makes the best picture.
People "complaining" about Sony camera quality, don't seem to understand that it's zoomed in more compared to the others.
Owning an XZP, I'm amazed about the pictures that I was able take at night time. Of course it needs some "skills" but the quality is great
must be lumia 920 ,the first ois camera on phone
Jalal, 18 Feb 2018All of you blame sony. But in all aspects, the scale of sony captured images are bigger than t... moreyep the photos of the xperia trick them to make them look worse by zooming in but the reality that destroys the competition
Please GSMArena... Explain me this:
When I click on Sony Z I see : Z5, X Perf , XZ and XZ1.
There is not much difference between XZ and XZ1, when I see all 4 together.
But when I go to you tool and compare XZ1, iphone X and Mate 10 the difference is huge in favor of XZ1.
How is it possible?
As much as I'm a Sony fan I have to admit the low light camera is terrible, considering they supply sensors to other companies what are Sony doing to make their camera's looks that bad, I'm due and upgrade as of now, and I'm torn between going for the new xperia which they will announce at CES at the end of the month, they need to sort it out ,or I'm going for the Samsung note 8
Anonymous, 18 Feb 2018What's is up with Sony? I thought camera is their thing? They have a whole line of camera pr... moreSonys problem actually is that they are not focusing on "Point and shoot usage".
Hayaan Mo Sila, 18 Feb 2018Yeah yeah. Xperia images are way more zoomed in and people complain that its quality isn't as... moreIt is not the case buddy, but it is still something else, the pictures of the Galaxys are taken at 1/10ss, the pictures of IPhones are taken at 1/5ss, the pictures of Huaweis are taken at 1/20ss, while the picture of the Xz1 is taken at 1/32ss, keep in mind these are in auto mode, if the xz1 photo been taken at 1/16ss it would outperform all except Google pixel, because the Google pixels pictures are taken at 1/32ss too nevertheless it blew all of them out of the water and that's monster performance.
Anonymous, 18 Feb 2018WTF is going on with Sony cameras. They look like they're 3 years behind the competition. Ever... moreThey are cropped in 2x more than the others, hence the quality degradation.
Do some fair cropping and Xperias will stand out because of their higher resolution as advantage.
The mere fact is that they have almost 2x the resolution of the others while they're ONLY MARGINALLY inferior to the competitors. If they put 16mp resolution, their cameras would easily beat out the other devices.
Faizal Firdaus, 18 Feb 2018oh Sony...
Will you improve your low light performance at-least at this MWC?
Please stop pix... moreNo. Just no.
12mp is enough for large digital cameras, not smartphones.
Each individual pixels of a large digital camera is about 4x as large as those of smartphone cameras.
Many times have I tried the Note 8's camera and 12mp is just not enough for a well-balanced shot. If anything, the LG G4 / V10 / G5 / V20 all had the perfect hardware components. Perfectly sized 16mp resolution with adequately large 1/2.6" sensor and reasonably bright f1.8 lens along the great OIS, LG just had to improve upon it. I still have the very first smartphone with f1.8 lens and I could name NO mid range phone of today that could rival its picture quality in every situation (XA2 series are close though).
What's is up with Sony? I thought camera is their thing? They have a whole line of camera products. They manufacture sensors and sell them to Canon. Why does their phone suck?
All of you blame sony. But in all aspects, the scale of sony captured images are bigger than the competitor.
AnonD-730705, 18 Feb 2018This shows that Sony is a total waste in the smartphone industry. In other words, you don't want the camera sensor of the Samsung, Apple, Huawei, LG, HTC, Xiaomi, and every other OEM's smartphones.
Yeah yeah.
Xperia images are way more zoomed in and people complain that its quality isn't as good. Alright that's really really fair.
Why they did not mention the Nokia 1020?? I want to see it.
oh Sony...
Will you improve your low light performance at-least at this MWC?
Please stop pixel race and focus on image quality.
12 Mega Pixel is more than enough and using your current 1/2.3 sensors,
you can achieve greater pixel size than S/note series. The aperture size is 2.0 since 2013.
2013, f/2.0 was impressive, but why are you using the same even at the end of 2017?
LG/HTC/Oneplus could be included easily btw.
