Dont believe to everything you read.
Samsung is likely .S.H.I.T. Company which do same to thir phones and customer care
Hayaan Mo Sila, 11 Feb 2018Let’s forget Xiaomi. Samsung’s twin brother, LG, also released Oreo for the V30 a month earl... morePlease stop, if you compare LG to Samsung you need to wake up, LG skin and feature count is far behind Samsung , LG skin is rubbish. LG is dying brand, you comparing top brand with one which didint made profit for years now
Samsung’s 2015 flagships started with 2014 android, and getting 2017 android is a step in the right direction.
Anonymous, 10 Feb 2018Come on dude, it is completely silly to reserve software updates only to midrangers or flaghsh... moreHahaha what the f are you on about.
Apple supports their devices longer than any other smartphone manufacturer, a 4.5 year old iPhone 5S got update to the latest iOS version the same day as brand new iPhone 8.
[deleted post]Better late than getting broke your phone after update. Sony's oreo has many bugs and no new feature.
Samsung abandoned security updates on my just 2016 about a year ago so now I've abandoned Samsung and have recently bought a xiaomi miA1 and I could not be happier, excellent device, all my family are changing now as well.
They can pull this off, and if they do, it will be good news. I'm waiting for my S7 Edge to get Oreo, but the current state of smartphones now is that they all do everything that we wanted them to do 5 years ago. Cameras are producing amazing photos, apps and games are now plentiful and running perfectly, our devices are now awesome multimedia devices. For the first time i'm looking at the upcoming phones and thinking I don't need to upgrade after 2 years, as they don't offer much more.
So according to AnTuTu, Samsung is the most copied brand in the smartphone market.
If this 3-year support comes true, will they try to copy this as well?
PapaPerez, 10 Feb 2018You don't care about the features but you care about the software update support alone? So bas... moreIf there’s metal detector, I call you Apple detector. But the difference between you and the metal detector is that you have failed on me. I’m not an Apple fan or anything, but you accusation is just funny as Samsung’s speed of releasing updates.
I already explained why most features aren’t needed by all. Samsung users don’t use 1/2 the features pre-installed on their phones. As we all know, anything that isn’t used and serves no purpose and benefit in reality is either a gimmick or bloatware; Samsung is the king of both.
We need future updates because some apps don’t work on older versions of Android, hence why we ask for more updates. If they don’t want to release updates, then they have to make sure that installing custom ROMs on their devices is as easy as I am giving up to Samsung in regards to updates.
Stock Android is super easy and basic to use, just like iOS. Vanilla Android is the way Google wanted us to use Android, be it having a lot of features or not.
Here’s the thing, if you don’t need the fastest update, if you don’t need the most optimized software experience, if you don’t need apps that don’t run on older versions of Android, if you want pure complication in life, if you want to get abandoned in 2 years, no doubt is Samsung your best choice,
Vegetaholic, 10 Feb 2018Oh come on, it's been discussed 100 times, your shitaomi runs on stock android, and still been... moreLet’s forget Xiaomi. Samsung’s twin brother, LG, also released Oreo for the V30 a month earlier than Samsung, yet as we all know, LG!s software things are mostly inspired from Samsung, so it means to say that LG’s software is just as heavy as Samsung’s.
Do we hear any problems with Oreo on the V30? I doubt you could find one.
You have to take into consideration, we’re now getting near 6 months since the release of Oreo and Samsung hasn’t even pushed this update to most of their flagships, let alone mid rangers.
Onyxia, 10 Feb 2018The Xiaomi Mi A1 is an Android One phone, so OF COURSE it's going to get Oreo sooner. And let ... moreThose bugs have more to do with Xiaomi, not Oreo itself. Oreo-running devices don’t have any issues with the software. Huawei Mate 10/10 Pro is an example, I’ll give you one dollar if you could link any problems to it related to software and Oreo OS itself.
Kyo, 10 Feb 2018Other brands have always been sluggish with updates except for their latest flagships. If Sam... moreLaughable! Everyone has has better software support than Sammy. They don't wait until the new flagship is out to release the new software for their last gen devices
