I swear it seems like the smarter the phone gets, the crappier the durability gets. I had the Nokia 3220 for years and it worked flawlessly but when I bought the HD2, I had issues after the first week. Then the Galaxy S started messing up. Then the Nexus S started messing up. Then the G2x started messing up. I mean seriously, how smart is a phone if you cant use it after 1 week?
Guys, I'm the OP of that thread on xda and I have sensation myself. Gsm arena is not bashing Sensation, it merely reports on the issue a lot of users experience or have experienced before. On HTC side, there IS an issue with touchscreen, they just won't admit it.
I've been using the htc sensation for almost 2 months now and i agreed that there were some issues with the touchscreen being unresponsive. Yesterday i rooted my htc sensation and installed a custom kernel and overclocked the proccessor to 1.5Ghz and suddenly the problem disappear. For the whole day yesterday and today no issues whatsoever. I guess the problem is caused by the original kernel and htc sense 3.0 has too many animations (eye candy, it bogged down the processor. I might be wrong, it's just from my observation.
I don't have the phone but will definately return it for an replacement, seeing that some users expierence the problem and others don't. My BB 9800 had an dead pixel out of the box and they (service provider) wanted to send it away for repair which was unacceptable.I got a new one . We don't get our phones for free, demand a replacement.
Mines working perfectly fine....this phone is for a firm touch not a delicate touch...man ur touch up a little ...either that or I got a good one.my complaint if I had one would be the accessories that I bought I had to custom them a little to make fit..
HTC is a big failure in quality:
- dust under the screen problem
- weak signal problem
- wifi death grip (how the F can they deny it like we are liars, half of the owners including myself KNOWS that the issue does exist)
- awful battery life
- fast firmware update but with lots of errors
- and now this? the mighty sensation again?
i used to like HTC products but after actually using some of them i know for sure HTC is not a premium brand as i first thought. Their products have too many critical hardware issues.
SRG UNKOWN, 03 Aug 2011expensive and useless phone.. try to sell product which worth buying for the price. Why you say that it is useless phone?

alxalinm, 03 Aug 2011Lg Optimus Black is doing muuuuuuuch better it's almost perfect , no touchscreen problems , no... moreI also like LG's NOVA screen.
How is that they get this issue a few times and all of a sudden its an ISSUE? People have been talking about this since the damned deviced was released and now they jump on the bandwagon. It seem like GSM arena just wants to bash this device. I will admit it has its flaws but they act as if its an issue just because they had a problem. Get a new device like other people do and stop acting as if your issues represent the majority.
My Sensation did that a few times on my second week of having it. If you firmly touch the screen with the ring and slowly put your finger behind it it will unlock it. Hes not doing it right. It only did that a few times and never kept doing it. You may just need a new phone.
You have a small mistake here. The Sensation has been rooted and S-off.. So, people are installing custom Rom's and they are performing excellent..
The speed is way better that stock rom, and according to your tests better that Samsung GS II for 20%.. The touch screen problem is a driver/software problem, you should read better next time..
Im a sensation user for 2 month now..and sad to say thats the death grip is true, and bout the touchscreen issue...i thought i was the only who experiencing it..
Honestly saying sensation does have touchscreen issue..yes it does become unresponsive on the lockscreen..quiet dissappointed
This is just as bad as the Nokia N8's motherboard failure defect of the first batch.

There's also the purple screen defect on the N8.

It would have been nice if GSMArena write up an article about those defects but N8 users affected by those defects didn't get love and support from GSMA. An arricle about those defects would have forced Nokia to move faster with a fix/solution.
Lg Optimus Black is doing muuuuuuuch better it's almost perfect , no touchscreen problems , no wifi problem, no calls problem, battery lasts enough
AnonD-11838, 03 Aug 2011Out of all three major competitors: Optimus 2X from LG, Sensation from hTC and Galaxy S II fro... moreSAMSUNG Galaxy S II (I9100) - Screen Yellowish problem.
I've had mine since June 3 and the only problem I have is battery life. But I guess i comes with the type of phone and usage.
Ok the death grip is there if you handle it awkwardly but a non-issue with normal use. No problems witch the touchscreen other than those endless fingerprints all over.
When I bought sensation, the first day it happened to me, I tried to take a pic and it restarted twice, after that it started working properly. Till now my touch input is working properly but yes deathgrip issue sucks and also my HTC hangs a lot don't know why. And they should have given RAM atleast 1gb
Out of all three major competitors: Optimus 2X from LG, Sensation from hTC and Galaxy S II from Samsung, the later is the best.
No major issues like these and works very nice.
Its battery is also the best.
Congratulations Samsung!
Haha, what are HTC fans gonna say about this now?? Give more excuses
