I have it since one month without problems. The first day, the battery empties fast but after changing some settings, I can use it several days :

Settings > Display > Brightness > Automatic brightness

        Settings > Wireless > Wi-Fi settings > "Menu" > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy > After 15 min

No problems with Wi-Fi but for who have problems :

        Settings > Wireless > Wi-Fi settings > "Menu" > Advanced > Best Wi-Fi performance

        RTFM

Stop complaining "kids" ,all phones have a bug when they are first released [shame to see this with a flagship phone ,but ...] Remember Nokia's N97 when it first arrived ? Remember all the issues ?? ...had a Samsung i8910 that was flawless [except fot the materials ...really ugly finish] or the Samsung s8300 UltraCR*P that was filming ALMOST HD with a unbearable sound quality when noise was loud and crappy software [maybe you've heard about the bug that made the phone ring without the SIM inside ?] ! ...or maybe the Nokia X6 witch i had 6 .. SIX and all were garbage [materials and handwork] !

But there still has hope for some of them ! At least for the X6 [from what i know and seen with my own eyes] ,the guys from "nokaia" fixed all the flaws [too bag for me and for those that went on and buyed the first realeases ,oh well ,no more nokia for me] that i'm not going to enumerate now ...some were visible !

But going on ON-TOPIC .. the Sensation is gourgeous at least ,ok maybe it has some issues ,but you can always ROOT and change the firmware ,perhaps provide some 20-30% boost in speed ,who knows ? Had a Nexus One [verry good/nice phone ,congrats to HTC for the components and handwork!!!!] with many flaws and had the Google firmware inside [it makes you think ..] ,but eventually rooted the little fella and guess what ?! 90% of the problems -> GONE ! [also was rooted on CM7 nightly ,not even stable..] so think about it..

I'm no HTC/Samsung/Nokia/Apple/Whatever fan-boy ,and i will never be ! I had at least one of all the major companies hansets.
Why ? Because no brand deserves my loyalty ...what ?! they feed and dress me ? k'mon guys stop hating one brand or another ,every brand has a piece of eden for some users ,that's no reason to talk dirty about HTC or Samsung [true they have "crappy" plastics] or Apple who has indeed the best optimized OS out there [true it lacks some essential user-friendly commands - at least from my point of view] ... but that's no reason to fight for one brand ..like fighting over Nike and Puma cause i don't like cats ! [i do actually :) ]
Stop this fanboy-ing BS and think for yourself WHAT will YOU like for YOUR next phone ,not what some brand releases and shoves down your throat !

...now i'm verry pleased with my Nexus S ,also rooted on CM7 - nightly and still having the battery "%" charge bug ,but i'm very happy with it ! Not even thinking of going back to stock ginger ... EVER ! [good job team Cyanogen !].

My sensation has done it twice, both times where i have been using it close to its limit, that is on wi-fi downloading things, playing games and listening to music all at the same time and when i go to the homescreen, lock the screen then go back to the phone and find that only the top and bottom parts of the screen work with no issues.
However, I have only had this twice at that was straight away both times. other than that its a fantastic phone and i havent got any complaints. i am sure HTC will issue a fix soon enough :)

This is exactly the same problem I am facing on my hTC Wildfire S. Gave it for repairing to their Service Centre. And, a guy there had a Sensation with the same problem. They told me I would get it within 10 days. Damn! Just 25 days since purchase and now this!!

AnonD-13949, 03 Aug 2011again samsung prevails where are htc people who always say sensation is way better looooooo... morethere is no right or wrong choice, there is preffered choice, and devices with either more or less problems, but still, with problems. Smartphones are still fairly young, there will always be something wrong with them.

All good phones suffer problems. The iPhone 4 had a death grip problem, which was blown outta proportion cos its Apple.

Now HTC have problems with ONE device. Im an iPhone fan but I also love HTC phones, one phone having issues does not constitute the entire brand being bad. Samsung have been having countless bugs on so many of their phones for years now, it took them a dual core processor and 1080pHD recording just to compete at the top. And even with the dual core processor the Galaxy S2 just aint as special as its made out to be.

                      HTC v Samsung.....HTC anyday!

I had the touchscreen problem and I brought it back to the shop where they gave me a new one. Worked great for a couple of days and then had the same problem again. So back to the shop I went and got a third phone. Had the third phone for about two months now and everything is great. Love the phone but I do wish that I didn't have to go through all that but hey I think it was worth it. Especially since I got the phone for free with a two year contract for $55 a month. Thank God that Korean people don't like htc!!!lollol

[deleted post]Devblue, If you are referring to the 1.35.401.1 (latest update) then I already installed it from the day the OTA came out. It didn't help a bit with this problem. Want to check a source, why don't you go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129272 and check for yourself how many people are having this problem. If you don't have this problem, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. I wish I didn't have to battle with HTC for over a month now about this issue, but there we are. Good work GSMArena for raising awareness about this.

Hi guys. I'm thread op on xda. Just read through it and you will see that a lot of people are affected by this issue, before OTA and after. Mind you, a lot of people do not have this issue, or simply don't recognise this as an issue (maybe it's their first touch screen and they believe this is the way it's supposed to behave) I'm HTC fan, and yet i consider this as a massive FAIL from HTC especially as they refuse to even acknowledge that there is a problem.
To me, it doesn't look like GSM arena is bashing Sensation, they are just sharing what people are reporting.
If you DON'T have a problem, how do you know what it feels like? How can you judge people which report problem? I know how device behaves with issue and without, hence i KNOW how it should behave 100% of the time i'm using it (and other people with this problem). You, people who don't have this issue, DON'T know.

Problem is there, and it's not only affecting 2-3 devices, FACT.
