Anonymous, 12 Feb 2018Question, if users are so much interested in stock android then why they never buy pixel or on... moreBecause Pixel and OnePlus are overpriced. This is partly why Nokia's comeback has been a success since they make a large segment of phones including super budget ones all running stock Android.
Hilarious flop of Xiaomi!
That said, stock Android too isn't common consumer's favorite.
And also when gadget freaks say s/he prefer stock Android, it doesn't mean they are going to keep using stock launcher , instead they have alternative UIs to install in mind.
Considering that majority of people in my country don't even know what's Nova/Action launcher is (and stick to whatever UI they have got in the first), stock Android isn't necessary the best way to go because it's too plain for common people, and it's hard to differentiate.
All in all, I'd like to see : adding some neat feature without ruining stock Android's goodness, - like Pixel, Moto, Xperia and OnePlus do, with Project Treble support on them to make timely OS update possible.
I like oem roms rather than vanilla.. I had enough of it when i used my nexus 7..such a useless rom.. Now it runs on cyanogen and its awesome...no matter what you say.. I'd rather have a phone that can autotag its mp3 files, or have a ui that can actually lock the screen with your voice
Funny that nobody mentioned Samsung. You lucky Xiaomi people don't know what HELL is.
LG superfan, 12 Feb 2018I personally prefer skinned android over vanilla androidSo do i. Stock android looks kind of dull to me. The first thing i did on my nexus device was download a new launcher.
You wouldn't believe how much brain washing is there around that brand....Miui forum is a plece where most of idi*ots are, Apple sheeps and Sammy boys are like babies to that "people".
Just try to find one post with "problem" on that forum....even if there is (I had started few, to get some help, but it was delayed soon) you will find 1000 people that are saying how good Miui (and Xiaomi) is, they don't have any problems and that you must be lieing.
Worse support every, from a brand and from a community...
As usual I saw Shadow of Communism thought
When xiaomi was a beginner: custom ram maker and now and present day, android with a lot of iOS features in something in the name: smartphone! What the shame

Anonym, 12 Feb 2018Xiaomi just needs to embrace the difference between China and the West, while China absolutely... more43% of the people still choose MIUI right? I am one of them.. Although it makes the device a bit slower, It caters to the whole point of having an android phone. I love android because it has so many customization features. If I just want a fast optimized device, just accept it, nobody can beat ios. Just use one, and you will understand. Like every web page on safari is optimised and adjusted for that particular iphone. No android can give that, what android can give; that ios can't............ is in MIUI.
This is how much China hates Google. They delete that tweet and cant accept defeat. Booooooooo~
Jacky, 12 Feb 2018I have used pure Android on my Nexus phones and am using MIUI 9 on my Redmi Note 4 SD version.... moreHi Jacky,
Do you get regular monthly security updates on Redmi Note 4?
Will you get Oreo with MIUI 9?
I would have gone with stock android, but it lacks some of the basic utilities, for instance network speed in status bar. I can get it with 3rd party app but they consume a lot of battery and have persistent notifications. In that sense custom roms are good, but when they diverge too much to remove features, it is an headache, along with the long delays in updates. But one needs to be different to seperate oneself from the bunch. As of now i think oxygen is the best custom rom by a manufacturer
