bootloader is required to run roms or other non regulation software
wat well boot loaders do on a sony arc
silverjet, 04 Aug 2011Yo! I agree with you bro. i dont get what bootloaders mean. If you don't know what a bootloader is don't worry this won't effect you.
I'm more than happy with that. Nothing wrong, they just doing something we want their way. Anyhow unlocking and putting a custom ROM to your phone is always the best way to voide your warrnty after all. They try to protect all the noobes around, so credit for that from me!
They are now simply takingadvantage of customers....i will soon dispose off this stupid fone and stupid promises and accept samsung....atleast they r not twin faced like htc.....
H - Hell
T - to
c - Customers....
From now this is full form of htc as per all of us who trusted them
foneboy, 04 Aug 2011Just a small thing....if you must use colloquialisms in articles e.g. 'bootloader', could you ... morereally, gsm arena needs to define what bootloader is when you can easily find out for yourself. By the way, they must have given the meaning in one of the old posts BUT you won't expect them to define bootloader everytime it is used, would you? If they do that, then they have to give the definition of most words in each publication :)

Samsung is much better, Galaxy S and S2 and... all have unlocked bootloaders, and "download mode" and "Odin" make Samsung phones almost impossible to brick, so if any custom firmware is "bad" the user simply can reflash the stock firmware using Odin and all problems are gone and warranty then is back again.
HTC do not understand that one of the main reasons for choosing an Android phone is because it is "free".
Just a small thing....if you must use colloquialisms in articles e.g. 'bootloader', could you be kind enough to give a brief explanation of what they mean. You've got a great website, but allowing techno nerds to overun it with there geeky language kind of ruins it. Thanks
What is wrong with HTC! They probably don't know that one of the reasons they have so many fans is that there are 3rd party developers who have the chance to play around with their software thus making people like the phones more.
Pls stop this bootloader nonsense!!!
