Ajax Francis , 15 Feb 2018I wonder what is next after 1 nanometer. Beyond 7nm major technology breakthrough will have to happen since Quantum Tunneling becomes a problem. It's expected Moore's law will come to an end after 7nm due to the delay cause by the implementation of these new technologies. Once there, who knows how long it will take to even get to 1nm.

It would be amazing if Samsung actually engaged TSMC for making a 7nm SoC, only until such time as they make an SoC FAR SUPERIOR to the ones made by TSMC.

Since Samsung Mobile and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Are two different companies, it shouldn't really be a problem.

Ajax Francis , 15 Feb 2018I wonder what is next after 1 nanometer. they wont get past that, I doubt whether they will also get to two... due to the distance between the gate in the transistors... the next big move in CPUs will be neural computing or something. The race in Nanometer process will end by 2025, I guess, or earlier.

AnonD-434295, 15 Feb 2018Qualcomm become more like intel nowaday. They really need competition. Correct, but now Intel have to face the rise of AMD. So Qualcoom need something similiar.

If qualcomm makes this it will be excellent outstanding performance in any phone.
Samsung hands off. Anything you touch cost a fortune.
