Anonymous, 16 Feb 2018Hmd should be developer friendly rather than not selling locked bootloader mobile.. nokia 6... more*rather than selling
I have a Nokia 8 and yeah, I don't care or know the importance of rooting. I'm just using a phone to text, watch and game on.
It's not like I'm gonna root the phone just to gain Watch_Dogs style hacking skills, maximizing the use of VPN and Tor or something crazy like that.
AnonD-473228, 16 Feb 2018there are tons you can root...buy them and be happy...lolHmd should be developer friendly rather than not selling locked bootloader mobile..
nokia 6 launched 1 year back still they havent released any kernel sources and it is against General Public License (GPLv2)
No Kenrel source release
No way to unlock bootloader
sorry no need to buy such mobile
Alien , 16 Feb 2018well, I'd rather choose using an ancient 3310 rather than an iPhone x so in my opinion anythin... moreI agree that the ability to unlock the bootloader is an important option in a device you own and have paid for.
If that is a priority for you though, the Google Pixel or OnePlus devices are definitely the better options, as they easily let you access the option to unlock the bootloader, provide the stock firmware and have an active modding community. All while also letting you retain your warranty after you've unlocked your device.
FinnishInquisition, 16 Feb 2018I'm really sad that this is another manufacturer that has gone for the completely useless and ... moreTry to use on-screen keyboard first. Then write nonsenses. 16:9 screens are filled by 2/3 by bottom on-screen buttons, keyboard, address bar and status bar on top. You can see just 1/3 of active screen. Think first. Than talk.
Alien , 16 Feb 2018Nokia doesn't allow us to unlock their bootloader so I've lost my interest completely for Noki... morethere are tons you can root...buy them and be happy...lol
New line cinema, Lion gate, Colombia picture (Sony's subfamily) creepy house etc.. Will have 2:1 as soon as well as produced as etc
FinnishInquisition, 16 Feb 2018I'm really sad that this is another manufacturer that has gone for the completely useless and ... moreOriginally i wasn't a fan of 18:9... however, there are 2 things i really like about it now.
1) gives more room for a full number row on the keyboard.
2) i can split screen with TV or whatever up the top and still use the phone for emails, web browsing or other.
FinnishInquisition, 16 Feb 2018I'm really sad that this is another manufacturer that has gone for the completely useless and ... moreWhy do you think Nokia almost went bankrupt before? They tried to make good phones without any gimmicks.
Good phones (N8/808/E7) need time and money to develop. The Pureview tech in 808 took nearly 5 years. Thats half a century in tech industry.
Then you need to educate the general public why 41MP is not overkill, and why the 41MP sensor is producing 5Mp pics.
The fact is, making good products leads to bankruptcy. Make products that people want, even if they are pointless and ridiculous, like an 18:9 ratio screen. That leads to higher sales. Case in point: Infinix
Infinix, Techno and iTel are part of the same company. Most people in the west have never heard of them, but they dominate most of africa and are now going after south asia.
It doesnt matter that they make pointless phones, what matters is that their pointless gimmicks work.
What could be more pointless than a phone retails for around 20 USD and has 2 cameras but no memory to use either of them?
The neo splice! Some Samsungishius+ Some LGishius
Android One as well. Nice.
FinnishInquisition, 16 Feb 2018You're saying that their phones are slightly better than the best-selling flagship in the worl... morewell, I'd rather choose using an ancient 3310 rather than an iPhone x so in my opinion anything is better than an iPhone :))
but that doesn't solve the bootloader unlocking problem though. either give us root access or get lost.
I'm really sad that this is another manufacturer that has gone for the completely useless and gimmicky 2:1 aspect ratio. Nothing uses 2:1! Not YouTube, not TV-series, not web pages, not even movies!
Alien , 16 Feb 2018Nokia doesn't allow us to unlock their bootloader so I've lost my interest completely for Noki... moreYou're saying that their phones are slightly better than the best-selling flagship in the world like it's a bad thing. :)
I'm very excited about Nokia MWC 2018 in Barcelona. 😘
But we wait:
Nokia 7 Plus
Nokia 6 2018
Nokia 1
Nokia 8 Sirocco
and
Nokia 7 (Global Variant) 😘
AnonD-731852, 16 Feb 2018This might be the long missed Nexus, if the price is right.
All we need is an unlocked bootlo... moreNokia doesn't allow us to unlock their bootloader so I've lost my interest completely for Nokia. They can go bankrupt for all I care..
An android phone without root access is just a slightly better iPhone.

Love the Community, 16 Feb 2018No. The branding makes it classy and unique. Just as it was before.I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I personally find the branding on the front very distracting, especially while watching videos. I like the phone though; just not the branding on the front.
A midrange phablet is just perfect indeed.
The bezels seems OK. The Nokia branding looks good, I'm quite fine with it. Hopefully its priced around $400+ dollars.
