a real downside, it renders the phone more prone for screen shattering and not to mention annoying when trying to read and certian parts of the text fall off to the sides

Well, at least they cover the ugly hump, but to show the curved screen they let the display smash the ground if you drop the phone so what purpose they have less hide the hump? The second one simulates false leather from China, like the phone.

As Nokia 8 Pro, Nokia 9 also put FPS on the back - most inconvenient place to operate. Open your phone when is laying on the desk - impossible.
And just copycat curved screens from Samsung - another inconvenient feature.
HMD is not NOKIA. Putty. I was expecting more than copycat.
