But I know where you get the thing with PDF's it's from that biased apple site, tomsguide that showed some generic scores once upon a time.
The A11 is like a "Gorilla" on a dance floor. It can do very well some things that don't really matter for smartphone users like editing videos while you ignore the fact that it's actually handicapped by a limiting OS like iOS and a small 3GB of RAM that already reached their limit.

my lowly essential beat the crap out of the not... moreThey run the same SoC, plus essential is running a slimmer version of Android. Obviously it would beat Note 8 in app lauches. It is the heavyweight in this comparison (I don't know why you think your essential is lowly, that is a weirdnposition given its hardware).
In real life performance it does lose pretty badly to Note 8 though. That's down to using only 4GB of RAM, meaning it has to reload a lot more apps during the days, so all the gains it has from app launches goes the way of the dodo since Note 8 often doean't have to launch anything to begin with (it's stored in its gargantuan memory).
Always go for big RAM + good ram management if you want a fast phone, everything else is of secondary and triatary importance...
So qualcomm is keeping the world back . What a surprise!
Honestly those regions getting the qualcomm version should sue pretty hard. 33% less performance (in single core) is nothing to scoff off, that's intergenerational difference which would show in the long term use of the phone (in both raw performance *and* battery life as due to this exynos version would be far less loaded in each and every action, thus better battery)

He talks nothing about SnapDragon 845 being superior to Exynos 9810. We all know it's the other way around.
But those that uses the inferior chip can make use of that less power much better than Samsung themselves.
Take for example, among the Android flagships of 2017, it appears that only the S8/S8+ and Note 8 are struggling to beat the iPhone X in speed when others easily pass by with basic tasks. Sometimes those Androids even beat the iPhone X in game opening, but then the S8/S8+ and Note 8 come with their struggling CPU performance.
Software plays a big part of the game, too. It's like the race car Exynos chip is carrying 20 elephants on its back while running, compared to the tricycle SnapDragon chip that is carrying 3 normal-weighed passengers.

Be very interesting to see how the new exynos stacks up in these tasks.

normal usage include : opening webpage , starting a game , social networking ect.
many SD835 device are faster doing those wich represent over 90% of mostly everyone uses.
i never said A11 was not powerful hell if its could be optimized for android i am sure its would easily beat SD835 in those same real life speed test.
The issue i have with Apple is the crappy software optimization since ios 7.

The 835 can beat it sure in opening some apps in those worthless tests but as show in multiple videos if you edit videos or even open PDF's it pulls well ahead and is in a league of it's own.

Same thing for web browsing.
I also get better battery life and charge way faster.
go see all those video on youtube lol.

Stop it! It is simply evil to post such things, reminding me that since H2 2016 my country has the worst model. Exynos SoCs are awesome

Geekbench has a slight problem when trying to identify the frequency of the core used to accomplish its different types of workloads. In this scenario the system defaults to the usage the most powerful cpu core to complete the test which in our case is the cluster that contains the m3 core. But due to some inconsistencies in the geekbench software for some reason it only indicates the frequency of the low power cores instead which is 1.9 ghz. And the actual gs9 with the exynos 9810 chipset hasn't even launched yet so i turn it is way too early to envision about the performance of the m4 core at this stage in time, Samsung could choose to do many things to its cpu structure at that point such as, going full custom even with the efficiency cluster which currently uses a55s. This year Samsung completely redesigned the cpu pipeline from ground up along with dramatically increasing core sizes and the cache subsystem. Who knows what other amazing changes Samsung has done under the hood of the 9810 chipset. Additionally Samsung could be saving most of its soc innovations for the 10th exynos chipset, since the entire exynos division would be 10 years old by the end of the year.
Anonymous, 19 Feb 2018NoSamsung could do many things with its chipset from this year to the next. So, who knows, Samsung could reach the point where its cpus can go toe to toe with apple's.Anything's possible
