I assume it's not true.
Sony likes to keep their things secret until the day before the official announcement of their product. It's the same way we never really got any information about the XZ Premium until the day it was going to be announced the next day.

One of the last with some personality to it, even if very faint nowadays (... moreWell, it's obviously "prototype" at the news headline of the Xperia XZ2 Compact that was going to ditch headphone jack altogether, but as while ago this could be the prototype that Sony had to dismal the grants on the FCC 13 days ago due design change on the granted patent and the change could be 3.5mm jack returned from possibly Sony Marketing PR heard the complaints of Xperia fans or haters as feedback at last-minute (I could be wrong, but who knows?) . okcnaline, 20 Feb 2018Shame, no side fingerprint reader.Well, patents of either power button or side fingerprint sensor in US are the one to be blame all the time :/. Sony has debacle for that for 2,5 years since the introduction of side fingerprint on Xperia Z5 family, and forced Sony to put it on the back to make it work on all regions including USA and currently, the owner of the power-button side FPS on the USA is Apple (as news spread while ago on this site as well).

Nice fkn' job sony! One of the last with some personality to it, even if very faint nowadays (used to have so many cool designs ~5 years ago...), now going with the same stupid no 3.5mm jack thing. Nice fkn' job!!!!
Hope it's fake, or gets changed in final product, or maybe just not seen the jack anywhere (maybe covered by some flap).
