AnonD-632062, 20 Feb 2018Very old Samsung Galaxies (circa 2011) used to have Swype pre-installed. It was awesome...But ... moreHa ha after seeing the ratio of your post count and likes received I've no doubt any more that the more dumb you're, more likes you're gonna get!
It's not just the swiping gesture, Swype was and is way ahead than competition because the swiping recognition is miles ahead than other keyboards. GBoard, SwiftKey all have swipe gesture support, but the recognition/accuracy is absolute trash.
I have tried all keyboards on Play and nothing comes close to original Swype, I'm lucky that the old version of Swype I'm using is still supported with 8.1's API and I sincerely wish it's supported for at least another 2 more APIs, because those who are used with the actual Swype keyboard can never adjust to anything else.
If you're really looking for an alternative then GBoard is the least garbage that much I can say, still not possible for me to use instead of Swype anyway.
I hope someone will start picking up the development and good lord nothing like Nuance, they killed the keyboard slowly but steadily, a good company I mean.
It's really a dark day for us Swypers, period.
PS: I wish these SwiftKey users didn't bother to comment here, cause those who used Swype never did care about prediction or auto correct or emojis at first place.
RIP, the Original Swype. And don't RIP Nuance, for killing the best keyboard.

Popular you said? I don't even k... moreSwype has been around for ages and back in the days this method of typing was novelty. but with time, this function has been integrated in default keyboards so doesnt surprise me that some have not heard of it before.
RIP swype
I'm using SwiftKey.
It's great for those that are into coding because it provides the arrow key plus some other useful features.
The only downside is that after you place a "." it adds by itself a space. Damn frustrating when you rename files or try to insert web pages but I got used to it.
what a shame, i'm using swype from the very beginnings i've used it on my windows mobile with the first beta... :(

Google kills one more popular application...
so sad. I've been typing with it for 3 years. Swype is the best keyboard I've ever used.
Swype was big back in the day. Not so significant anymore as most stock keyboard has this feature built in.
Gboard all the way!! I have it set to black on my S7 because of the Amoled display, which basically turns off the pixels in the keyboard area to make it pitch black. The default Samsung keyboard has a grey color and causes burn-in over time. Give it a try if you haven't already, many customizations can be done.

Popular you said? I don't even know it exist.
Very old Samsung Galaxies (circa 2011) used to have Swype pre-installed. It was awesome...But later the same "Swype" functionality was included in the default keyboard, so it became redundant....
Swift Keyboard 100 Million Downloaders..... Swype Keyboard 1 Million..... I Think They Don't Getting Profit.....Here Wege Recently Come But 10 Million Downloads Where Others Maps Less....Same With Chat Whatsapp No.1 1 Billion But Others R Less Downloaders Very Less..... Invest In Android Doesn't Mean Every Time Profit Business :P
That's sad, Swype had always been my favorite keyboard on Froyo-KitKat era.
Since Marshmallow I've been using SwiftKey, swiping prediction is not good as Swype but it improved a lot recently.
