I just really want them 4TB SSDs to become really cheap (below $500), want to transform my TS-470 Pro to an all-SSD NAS...
For those addicted to adult art industry let say it this way its 30 TB nothing. They will fill this SSD Disk within a week or two :-)
Anyway gonna buy one for up to 120 euro soon as it will be available.
For people who know how when and where is that easy.
still not enough for PORNADICS lol
Samsung is besttttt

"that’s the whole drive – each day for five years"
sounds very impre... more30 TB daily x 2000 days means 5TB daily x 12000 days.
This drive should last really long assuming (as above) 1/6th of its content gets replaced everyday.
AnonD-737204, 20 Feb 2018Your laptop aint gonna take a 3.5 SAS drive. It'a 2.5mm sas drive. Back in the day there were some super high end laptops which supported sas drives as secondary drives ... yeah I know weird. Don't know if such a thing exists still, doubt it in fact. But technically it could have been doable. Not that most of anyone would needs a 30TB SAS drive for their laptop ... but who knows ... crazy people.
AnonD-59899, 20 Feb 2018That's not how it works. What they meant is, the drive should theoretically last for 50,064 TB... moreAnd Samsung drives do usually come with overprovisioning

It is just seen from another perspective. Multiplying things up, make things sound big.
When an area is worn, by more that the roughly 2000 writes, it is lost from the total capacity.
So of course if it is a smaller area that is written a lot of times, the capacity will only dwindle slowly.
AnonD-737204, 20 Feb 2018Your laptop aint gonna take a 3.5 SAS drive. As written in the article on others website its 2.5 size not 3.5...

Jordan Wylde, 20 Feb 2018I can guess how much this would be: $20,000 US. I wonder if Linus Tech Tips will do a review.15,000$ sounds more realistic since 1Tb SSD costs 350-450$

Samsung made an SSD before for MacBook Pro and this things its fasssst.
I have a little more faith in SSD now. Written 30TB and still going good :P
