some points to note
1 Sales means total sales across platforms. including Mi.com, flipkart and mi home. what if they had distributed 100000 phones to each?
2 there are 20-25 mi homes in India. its not a stretch to think each got 4000-5000 phones especially considering population of cities majority of them are in.
3. they probably considered only online sales. offline are harder to track in terms of sales, rather than shipments

It's excellent for the price although i can't see why it doesn't have a type c - probably because xiaomi wants to attract low-end customers that prefer a conventional usb. 4k video can probably be done via a 3rd party camera or a custom rom, my old mi4c was exactly that way. Some deliberate flaws are probably to separate the redmi series from the mi, like manual controls in camera, which i find it unacceptable not to have.

What happened with you is unfortunate, but I suggest you wait for good product (Redmi Note 5 Pro), rather than going for substandard or dearer product mainly due to bitterness on Flipkart.

I am sincerely appreciate Xiaomi for their work and its products, they are truly value for money, so being good company they have to rethink about their method of selling and must be remove flash sale method. And all, who want to buy Redmi note 5 pro should wait some time and don't give your hard earned money to those black dealers. After some time this mobile will sell openly
