Alien , 24 Feb 2018Ok, I'm gonna try to answer as simple and easy as I can. When you using a non-root phone, you ... moreI understand and well for someone like me that seems like a lot of work and bit unnecesary though thankfully for persons like you there are other alternatives I belive that not too many people are interested in going through such a process sounds interesting though.

vs88, 23 Feb 2018I fear the Android One version will be available only in USA..Why? Nokia still has 99% Vanilla Android and fast updates for at least 2 years even without Android One. Okay, without Android One it might have one extra app preinstalled but it's not that big of a deal.

Scroller, 23 Feb 2018A glass back is horrible. Got one on my Sony Xperia. Can't wait to get new phone with metal ... moreYeah, this is still metal but it has a coating to "provide ceramic look and feel".

NichtsGemacht, 24 Feb 2018As others have asked (without response whatsoever) why is that so important for people like yo... moreOk, I'm gonna try to answer as simple and easy as I can. When you using a non-root phone, you are using it in GUEST mode.
Root gives you administrator access. You can add, replace, delete system files, you can install scripts, you can change ALL the fonts, the bootanimation, the bootlogo, you can flash other versions of android through custom recovery, or if you're into it you can edit your very own and unique version.
You can add or remove features. You can downclock or overclock the CPU. With enough skills you can even perform DOS attacks and other nasty things. But this subject is sensitive so I won't elaborate.
The idea is that android being an open-source software, we should be able to use it as that, not like ios. You can run Linux commands with Termux or Terminal emulator.
You can write scripts and run them without a pc.
All the bad replies I got are from people who have no clue about coding and programming in general.
The bottom line is that root is for advanced people and those that aren't feel threatened by their lack of knowledge.
You know, people fear what they don't understand and attack : see Imperator Neubaticus comment below.
There are bad hackers and good hackers. I choose to be a good one (white hat) . Otherwise Imperator would be on my list :D

Alien , 23 Feb 2018No bootloader unlocking = no root = NOT INTERESTED IN GARBAGE! That's my opinion about Nokia.... moreLol you must not have a lot of friends so i understand your need to make the world revolve around you and your preferences. It's ok. There are tons of delinquents just like you. You just have to reach out. You're not alone.

Hoping there's a beast along with it or else this new year will be a disaster for nokia since it will be more or less like expecting a car but you get a two wheeler.

Alien , 23 Feb 2018No bootloader unlocking = no root = NOT INTERESTED IN GARBAGE! That's my opinion about Nokia.... moreHMD has already said they will unlock bootloaders, so we just have to wait, but it will surely be done so don't worry.

AnonD-384010, 23 Feb 2018Agree.Back mounted is the best when holding your phone. If the fingerprint sensor has additional functions like on the Honor 8, where this is an actual button, then it is even better. You can swipe on the back-sensor to reveal the notification-panel and click on it to conveniently light the flash or even double click to do something else (e.g. screenshot). Front button is only good while holding with 2 hands or when the phone lays flat on a table or in a car using windscreen holder.

I think best is like Sony does it inside power-button. But I do like the additional features that Honor (used to) have.

That's my opinion about Nokia. I don't care if they're Finnish or china replika brand, as long as they don't provide bootloader unlocking so we can root their phones, they are nothing but useless garbage!
Also, the only thing Nokia fans seem to care is camera quality.. lmao
