They are expensive but now the appareance is cheaper. They removed the audio jack, lowered the selfie camera to 5 Mp while was 8 Mp before, they don't have OIS being a flagship phones. And the compact comes with less features. What were the designer thinking while developed these phones? That we are idiots to pay more for less? No! No money to buy these crap. Do it better next time if you want us to be customers again, we deserve it in future models. Now searching out there to buy new phones from other brand. Bad move Sony, sad.

Sony has copied HTC U11. It looking like a HTC U11 from the back side. Sony should purchase HTC if they like the design of HTC so much.

The downgrade of the front camera is also unforgiveable. Although I don't use it often, the use of a tiny 5 MP sensor compares badly with the competition. And the bezels. Sony trimmed the top and bottom but forgot about the sides. The XA2 shows that they can do side bezel-less design, but somehow they don't go the full 100%. Finally, why does Sony persist in pairing their great sensors with a small-aperture lens? Yet again, they refuse to provide the perfect package of a great sensor with a wide aperture lens. I use a Sony camera, and it is amazing how they have the technology but they insist on crippling their products by omitting basic functions. The mobile and camera divisions are the same. Something needs to change at Sony.

Waterproof was perfectly fine with the waterproof jack that Sony itself created.
And "tiny"? Have you seen that dongle? Its enormeous, clumsy and ugly.
Really, I mean really, Xperia without a proper jack....no thanks, putting my hopes elsewhere.

keep the compact tradition alive. I don't understand the madness among manufacturers to make larger and larger cells, not everyone wants to use their phone as a multimedia centre or a entertainment device, some people like to use them as 'phones'. I will be content with a 5 incher with good sunlight legibility, fast modem/internet connectivity, fluid and fast UI rendering (I would have preferred the compact with SD 6xx series, even without 4k HDR and other gimmiks), and a decent camera for occasional photography, the other thing not in taste i would consider is the glass back, why would you want that when you can get better grip on aluminium etc. why. and see that's the reason people subconsciously prefer iPhones, at leat i do.

Lucky me my Sony XZ1C is only 6 month old.

Xperia Z2 from 2014 looks way better than this midrange lookalike XZ2. I bet it'll cost $799 when Z2 only cost $550 at launch. With poor quality R&D they want to maximize profit, in order to blind us buying something that doesn't visually look good as Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+

They should have fired their design en... morebluetooth isn't your only choice. yes, they would prefer you to buy one of their new usb-c earphones or expensive bluetooth but there us already a FREE option included right in the box:
a small usb-c to 3.5mm adapter so you can continue using whichever earphone ir headphone you may already have

friends, i have a xiaomi mi 6 which doesn't have a 3.5mm jack, but includes the adapter usb-c to 3.5mm. there is no problem for me. expect a similar adaptor to be included with the xperias for your legacy earphones.

So yeah, not a fan of t... morethere will be a tiny adaptor usb c to 3.5mm jack. there is no problems and can still use your legacy ear phones no problem. the missing jack will provide better waterproof sealing with less points of failure should you accidentally drop it in a pool
