big top and bottom Bezels again. And they put their stup!d useless brand name in the front too, with huge font.
and still with lcd again?? plus fingerprint in the back??
the ui still looks old and unimproved.
this company never learn from mistake. keep repeating it over and over again every year.
Now that's the way to fail your fans. And thate must be THE weirdest place for FPS. Final nail to the coffin.
Anonymous, 23 Feb 2018Dear Sony ! AMOLED please.Crapmoled noo! Best Oled
Not as mesmerising as was hoped and leaves one feeling rather discombobulated.
They lost they unique design. sony is (was?) different and with just bit smaller bezels (top and bottom) current design was just fine!
May it help un-limit frequency for wireless audio, as it is now, its inferior to wired jack.
f1.8 is also great after 4.5 years, though lags behind competition with f1.5 out, should improve colors and low light, though I would welcome more hdr+ like stacking, than just getting bigger aperture, or raw output.
AnonD-739791, 23 Feb 2018A proper way to end your mobile division. Actually I didn't use any smart phone except Sony, and I can't imagine that I'll use any other brand.
I can say the new design is disappointing, hope they would implement something will exceeds our expectations.
Why is the fingerprint scanner on the back?!? Are you kidding me? The front obviously makes the most sense, but with the trend of making the screen go all the way to the edges, I can see that it's not easy to do (except if you'd put it under the display!!), but Sony was putting in on the power button which was an acceptable trade-off. But on the BACK?! Who wants to turn their phone over when they want to unlock it?! I am, you can obviously put in your passcode or pattern, but isn't that defeating the purpose of having a fingerprint scanner in the first place? So disappointed and frustrated. Some trends are good in the mobile industry, but when one company makes a huge mistake, why do all the others have to fall in their footsteps?!
Whats all this noise about HTC design... I fail to see how this does not look like a tall xperia X or X performance. As for the back, it's curved and that's just light and shadow effect. It should be like that for every curved corners(xz, xzs, xzp all have curved back but not coners, x performance is curved corners but not the sides and not glossy) glossy finish.
My real pain is back FPS... NO native audio jack???(will be an adapter though) but Daaamn Sony. Sad day for my xperia XZ... I already miss side FPS, how do I go on from here? How do I upgrade knowing very well that I'll only be registering both my index fingers and not My thumb and index finger for my right hand plus thumb and middle finger(no pon) for my left... A really sad day(sobbing).
Ouch! But if the new design of Sony is the bastard son of HMD and HTC. How strong! With that low position of the fingerprint sensor it must be that they designed it for the Chinese with small hands and short fingers. It was a thousand times more comfortable to have it on the side. Does not Sony know how to create software for telephoto cameras or complementary wide aperture on a mobile phone?
Sony, the inventor of the jack eliminating his creation! Put adhesive on your adapters and a double huge adapter if you want to play games while listening to the sound with the headphones because wireless charging is not useful to have the phone in the hand while charging.
Anonymous, 23 Feb 2018Lol at the comments of the hardcore and deluded Xperia fans on this site. Didn't you guys like... morei have no issues with sharp edges, large bezeels, side mounted fingerprint, top left corner camera, but it had the some unique design. Some like the deisgn and sokr doesnt.
I quite like the new design. It has some elements seen on other Sony phones, but I miss the iconic aluminium power button.
The back is the biggest change and it reminds me of some Sony Ericsson or Lumia, I kinda like it!
