Kangal, 01 Mar 2018Yes, GSMArena failed here with what seems like clickbait/fake news. It is only 2018 models,... moreNo, you're wrong! HMD Global clearly stated at the near end of their press conference that all of their phones starting from Nokia 3 will get Android One. We all know that Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 doesn't have their 2018 versions.
Anonymous, 25 Feb 2018There seems to be a problem here. They mentioned all 2018 nokias to be part of android one and... moreYes, GSMArena failed here with what seems like clickbait/fake news.
It is only 2018 models, and they are optional.
So we don't know if that means when you first start the phone it gives you the option to opt-in or opt-out. Or if it means the same phone will be sold in separate variants, like Xiaomi phones where some are sold with "Stock MIUI" and some sold with "International ROM".
The problem is that the HMD-Nokia devices are affordable only in USA, around the world they are actually quite pricey rivalling the SONY Xperia's, the GalaxyS flagships, and even the iPhone. And for that you don't get the best styling, or the best battery life, or the best camera, or best screen, or best specifications. In fact, its rather uncompetitive... and they aren't even marketed much. So all they rely on is nostalgia aka the "Nokia" name.
Me? I don't get moved by a brand, what separates me from my money is the product on its own merits, be it a Tesla or a Suzuki.
Nashmad, 25 Feb 2018Will the last year Nokia devices also be a part of this android one program? I guess so. Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 are devices of the past and it stated on the article that those devices included in HMD's Android One program.
Damn... HMD is on full throttle there.... This is the first OEM supporting Android One with a wide range audiences (from low to high). New the old Nexus is dead, long live Nexus. Welcome Android One... :)
Makk4096, 26 Feb 2018So, they will receive the security updates for 3 years? What about the OS updates? I am assumi... moreThe original claim was two Android version. And when new version seems to become about ones in a year. So it seems to be two year os upgrades and three year security upgrades.
But I don`t know what is the official statetement.
Ideally, once Nokia 2 gets upgraded to Android Oreo; it would be the Android Go edition just like Nokia 1.
So rather than being left behind as the article says, Nokia 2 will join Android Go.
So, they will receive the security updates for 3 years? What about the OS updates? I am assuming they will get the Android P for sure. Will they get Android Q as well?
Or is it that Android Oreo 8.1 will be considered as an OS update and the last OS update for these devices will be Android P?
karoko, 25 Feb 2018Boring design. Sigh..What do you expect with smartphone design nowadays? They all look the same
You will gonna slap a case on it anyway so why the whine? Lol
3 years software support? Now thats nice.
ATM I'm loving Xiaomi but their software sucks.
I'm going back to my old and first love. 🤣
There seems to be a problem here. They mentioned all 2018 nokias to be part of android one and not all previous models as well. Please check and confiem

Nice nice nice. Funny to know a device can adhere to the Android One program after it's release. And finally a poweful Android One phone.
Anonymous, 25 Feb 2018Please give unlockable bootloader and treble supportAll the new ones that released with 8.0 support Project Treble. HMD will also unlock the bootloader, later.
