To make full screen display, need to place selfie cam like this or to make a sliding phone.
The idea is there with almost all phone makers. There os nothing special other than they made a working demo
For the first time ever, Vivo really amaze me with the concept phone, I think other than the UI part, the hardware definitely will be one of the concept where majority OEM will utilized.
This is what Mi Mix should've been. Kudos for Vivo even for just a concept
This is a great concept and one of the most interesting phones showcased at MWC! The half screen fingerprint scanning technology under the display is amazing and practically much better compared to the under display fingerprint scanner positioned in a fixed place under the display on the Vivo X20 Plus UD. It still needs polishing to make successful detection rate and unlocking faster. A full screen fingerprint scanning area seems like a possibility now. The motorised periscope style front camera (like pop-up flash on dedicated cameras) is a great solution for phones with higher STB ratio, compared to selfie camera placed vertically below the screen on Mi Mix 2. Hats off to Vivo! I'm for the first time surprised by a Vivo Phone. The only thing here to complain is their UI which is heavily inspired by iOS and doesn't look genuine in an otherwise authentic concept phone like this.
Impressive concept indeed. It'd be great if they'd be able to integrate the front camera underneath the display as well just like on samsung's recent patent. And then iron out the fingerprint scanner. That'd be so cool.
ethereal, 26 Feb 2018Shameless copy cats. Look at those iOS icons. At the very least, it does better than the iPhone X without the ugly notch that every other android phone seems to be picking up which is very very bad. Also, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack! Ha! Say that to iPhone X!
unknown , 26 Feb 2018i love how the camera pop up.. will be great if will have even some sound.. a machine sound That some sci-fi stuff you think there XD
Usually I'm skeptical about Vivo since most of its products are selfie-focused phones with mediocre performance here in my country, but now apparently Vivo is apparently more than it looks. Good job. Optimize your UI, make it less-iPhone-y (seriously, please stop making UI based on iPhones, looking at you too Oppo), balance between front & rear camera and performance/specs, and you're even better to go.
That indeed is very innovative! And now I have to be that one kind of person that says - "Only if it'd run stock Android...". Well, yeah. It's impressive though, really like the concept.
AnonD-79247, 26 Feb 2018Vivo you can have my body if you release this phone before May, 2018. What a great phone! You'll probably have to sell it to buy one. I do think so that it'll be cheaper than ipx though...
Who said we needed those ugly notch anyway? Vivo did a good job not following that stupid trend by making their own solution and I applaud them for it! It's a job well done Vivo! :D
