Samsung expects the Galaxy S9 to sell more than the Galaxy S8 Comments

I hope they offer a nice range of colours like stallion red, saphire blue, emerald green, lilac purple. I hope they don't add an ugly notch or remove the headphone jack. Oh and hurry up I hate waiting for new phones. :P ha ha

Yes gsma, I think people should not buy iphones any more after 2017's proof, of maaasive bezells, with that same old tiny screen ratio look, and lies about the xphone having a 5.8" screen, when it only had an horriffic 5.3" screen with two ugly , unuseable, inconvenient , intrusive bat ears at the top, no wonder it did not sell well (Lying sales figure releases accepted.) S9, well,there is no reason not to upgrade when due, after all, it is currently the best phone on the market.

Yes like samsung expected to sell more A8 than A5.
Compared to A8 A5 was a good phone for a good price even a bit overpriced.
But A8 cost too much like 550 eur for a midranger WTF Samsung.

LoL !! What a good joke ! S9 offers almost nothing to be worth it to pay again a premium price and upgrade from S8 . Their expectations will be destroyed completely .

Samsung are dead wrong. The S9 has very little going for it over the cheaper S8. It is wider and overall larger than the S8. Sure, performance is better, but the S8 is still very fast.
If anything, I predict S8 sales going up because of the price cuts. S9 is just too expensive, without having anything to justify the steep price.

They're in denial. The price hikes on the larger + series of phones is enough to put off any S7 Edge owner, and the smaller variants have a smaller battery despite being almost the same size.
S8 owners will not even be looking at the S9 duo.
So why upgrade from an S7 Edge that is still relevant?

They said the same about S8 (they though that it would sell 60 mil, I was screaming to people that it was the worse S phone ever, now sales show just that).
Not only did it sell half that of peak sales (S4 -> 80 mil), it actually sold less than the lowest sales (S6 -> 45 mil), and of course not even close to its predecessor (S7 -> ~60 mil).
No wonder, people are waking up that Samsung ever since S6 is trying to trick them (only S7 was kind of good since). I mean they removed removable battery, IR, front fingerprint, do not follow tech anymore, small battery. They're a mediocre company selling at high prices and people would prefer to have nothing of that.
I predict right now that S9 would sell *less* than S8 because it is even less of an upgrade than what S8 was to S7. Heck S7 may still be the better phone than both S8 and S9 (same ram, more battery, better camera in daytime, pretty good SoC still if you bought the Exynos version, same PPI, front fingerprint ....)

Lovely phone but I'll be keeping my S8 for another year, S10 will be the new design and a further 12 months tech improvements.
I would upgrade were I an S6/7 owner though.

My GS7 is going on 2 years old, and feeling a little stale. While GS9 ticks most of the boxes I value, but the stupid edge screen and poor software support record put me off of it.

Someone who gave 800 Euros for Galaxy S8 / 8 + will hardly opt for S9 / 9 + especially after such a short time.
The one who would do this is expecting something completely new, and the S9 does not offer anything so radical

-$140/$280 cheaper
Bonus:
-dialing by searching for contacts using number/letter association(I literally remained shocked when I realized iPhones still don't have this, I've had it for over 5 years on my phone and it's at least 3 times faster than actually searching for the contact)

I will upgrade my GS7edge to GS9 this year. For GS8/GS8+ users who feel like it's a waste of an upgrade, just don't. No one's forcing you and no one wants your negative opinions. Go upgrade to something else.

I will skip the s9 this year....the camera seems good and nee Fps placement and new SoC but these arnt really worth trading my note 8 in for.......
The price is also steep now.....still cheaper then Iphone X for sure but to expensive to justifying only 6 months after laying down the same amount for note 8, note 9 for me

I own s7 edge, and this is one of the best s series from samsung,the s9+ is too expensive already, not a good idea to purchase.
