We don't need to pay more for round corner screens, notches or holes in our screens.
More colors (gamut) and brighter (HDR local dimming) would be useful.
Forehead and chin, 18+:9 and dual speakers would permit the large phones to have a big battery.
No head and chin, 16:9, puny end edge speakers would let smaller phones have their puny battery, for those who want a small phone.
Don't buy notches or holes, you'll only encourage the manufacturers to continue ruining your fullscreen enjoyment.
No different for the headphones jack, if you want it don't buy phones without one.

I don't mind top and bottom bezels. The galaxy S9 and LG V30 are as low as I need them to go though. Rather have them have a slightly taller phone and use the space to increase battery size. Battery size is the only thing, apart from those hideous edges, that the galaxy phones got wrong. HTC and Huawei got it right at 4000mA. HTC were let down by the energy sapping LCD though. Shame, as it was a stunner.

Consumers generally hate notch. Only paid journalists and paid "users" write that they like notch.
Try watching video in landscape mode on X!
Symmetrical screen is popular. Notch is not.

Vivo apex just show one way how to do it right without cutouts. Everyone else just copy the apple way, that in no sense is a win-win solution.
