Notch is smaller but it has a shin and is overall a lot bigger. I want a phone but i dont want a phablet that i need to carry around with laptop bag cause it does not fit in the pocket. I hate this trend of going bigger with every model. Nokia started this trend with 1520 and 1320 with a 6 inch screen back in the 2013 and now everyone is doing it with 5.99 and so on tablets with a phone feature.
Now days phones are made for kids that use social media and there for need that big of a screen. For older people who dont use social media for them there is nothing anymore. only some over priced Nokia 1 and old Sony compact phones that are flagship or high middle range hardware. And well some Samsung phones that are 4.7 screens

Get your facts right? Z5 hardware when it comes to cameras are better than your Xiaomi. Xiaomi uses low end hardware of unknown sensors they even doesn't speak about which is why the price is very cheap but will backfire you when you purchase it. NOW get your facts right.

Xiaomi couldn't even tell what sensors they use and on the other hand Z5 uses Sony x363 although they have the same chipset, they are far different in terms of the hardware being used. If you're not satisfied with what I am saying here you can check the reviews of the RN5P and it is not that impressive if we're talking about the camera. AND fyi, ZenUI is bloatfree now after OREO update. Take note of that.

3 better audio quality? You listened to the device before launch? Really? I'd wait for tests
4 age old amoled vs IPS. Resolution is same as it is anyways...

1 bigger battery
2 longer software support (mi3 has December security updates) show me the Zenfone 5 which was launched almost
2 years later having that..
3 metal is better than glass to handle accidental drops..
4 won't comment on this one without seeing zenfones price, but till then all I can say it that rn5 pro is actually available in India while Asus gonna launch this in April or may..

ffs stop making a story out a iTash. it is not IPHONEX notch it is only a NOTCH. no one said iPhonex has S8's glass back (because Samsung had glassback before Apple)or Huawei's dual Camera (only cause huawei had dual camera before Apple) and more, so PLEASE stop poping a stupid title as IPHONE X NOTCH, just write this phone has a NOTCH.

Asus can't compete price to performance ratio with xiaomi, unless it give better camera quality with same price range.

NO, About the Redmi Note 5, the Zenfone 5 with SD636 and the Zenfone 5Z with SD845 has more features, the cameras come with OIS and EIS, better than Xiaomi mid range, stereo speakers, AI, bigger screen ratio and size, and add that has fast charging plus Type-C connector (not old micro-USB like the Redmi Note 5 and slow charge in comparasion). And have audio jack and FM radio too. The only advantage for the Redmi Note 5 is the bigger battery but these new processors are more energy efficient that the old ones so 3300 mAh well managed is enough. If the Zenfone 5 has a adjusted price like the Zenfone 5Z with 479 euros, for example, 279 euros for the Zenfone 5, they'll potentially eat a big chunk of the market, even with the notch. So, I'm sure that a lot of people is waiting for it's official prices and probable offers.
And about the Zen UI... The Asus phones can be unlocked and support project Treble like the Zenfone 4 after the upgrade to Oreo so feel free to erase the Zen UI and choose whatever you prefer install.

I wont buy Asus again. Yes they have good hardware specs, nice screens and audio too, and the camera takes pretty good photos. But the ZEN UI, ruins it all. Still have lots of bloatware, and poor quality support. Everytime they release a new update, something goes wrong.
I had the Zenfone 3. Also Asus asks too much for their phones. They are not Samsung or Apple or even Huawei......

It has good camera, headphone jack, much bigger battery and ui is much better than Zen ui AFAIK. And bonus, no notch. I could see myself getting a Zenfone if it's 200 USD for SD 636 variant
