Google says it is not a fix and forget camera. Place it across various locations to help Google learn. Image quality is pathetic by today's standard and it does not even shoot a video, rather stitches images in a 7 second 15fps video. $249 for something like this is not at all worth it. Your phone cameras are capable of much better quality than this device.

Google still has not learnt the privacy lesson from the Google Glasses - people are inherently uncomfortable being filmed like this to the point of being paranoid about it. I think it will hit some walls myself.
