as iphone user, i am very shame with notch design, damn ugly like a rip off phone and make it look cheap
Brandship, 02 Mar 2018I'm not sure he has a wife.
Very poor jokeIt's not meant to be a joke.
The point is how many other companies are just going with Apple's flow. what ever Tim Cook's folks do they do.
Some Android manufactures who follows that Apple trend should be called "stupid", no reason to not to. Why did they do that even though they know their customers don't like that?
pramod5774, 02 Mar 2018Imagine what will other CEOs do if Ti mcook was found cheating on his wife...i hate to break it to you: it wont happen. Tim Cook is not heterosexual
XaErO, 02 Mar 2018Well said .. This notch nonsense is really a stupid trend .. Nonsense manufactures are followi... moreAnd yet, even on some of those, curve edged ovoid screens nonsens happens?
Whatever happened to fine rectangular screens?
A stupid but alas not so stupid as notc trend.
Glad at least Sony still keeps proper rectangle screen.
Here's hoping the copycats will start copying that other Apple "innovation" – wireless charging!
Mathew is hilarious about "the notch":
No one will probably see this, but I write it anyway.
With the round corners of modern displays, there could be rasons for using notches.
The advantage is not having to compromise with quality of performance of the sensors, by putting them behind the display.
Please to notches at the bottom as well... Perfect place for the fingerprint reader (please add some of the trackpad type functionality that some fingerprint reader comes with).
Use the space for stereo-speakers.
But the correct way to treat the part of the display on the sides, is to have them just do some ambient stuff, similar to that of videos recorded with the phone in portrait mode.
And then there can be floating icons and on-sreen buttons on top of it.
That way it will have the appearence of an extended screen area, without any actual information beeing lost.
The wrong way to do it, is creating blind-spots.
Or thinking that a black backround makes sense... the black backbround will take away from the experience of it actually being a part of the display.
I had some phones with a notch in my hands. Namely the iphone X of my friend's and a essential phone.
Having a notch like the iphone X is really disturbing me. Even the notch of the essential phone bothers me when using it.
Guess, i'm too OCD about notches, it makes me want to throw them to the ground.
I like everything clean looking, Vivo, Oppo, Oneplus, LG, Sony until now do have these clean looks and i love it.
I can't stand notches but not everybody is like me, i get nervous and my heart starts pumping blood excessively making me starting to sweat.
But it ain't only notches, the curved edges of the samsung flagships make me feel the same. i can't stand those curves, makes my eyes hurt.
notch design actually looks futuristic , let it spread but some people need to get out of past

Notch is the only way to increase screen to body ratio while keeping the camera & earpiece in a practical location. All phones must have bottom bezels for the display driver, but you cannot put the earpiece & camera there.
I hate this trend so much. It's literally doing the opposite of what it's supposed to do; lower the screen:phone ratio.
It's just a waste of screen estate and I would take a normal top bezel, which doesn't even need to be that big like on the Mate 10 or the Note8 and be done with it.
I'm guessing you really have to be desperate for attention to buy such garbage replika phones.
As an android user I would never buy the real iPhone, not to mention a copycat of it, no matter what it is running.
Only people with zero personality = blank sheeps would be interested in those.
I feel pity for them..
Actually it's quite simple really; China likes Apple products. The vast majority cannot afford Apple, therefore view it as a social status to own one, while Android is the affordable equivalent.
