Finally someone with better range of phones :p
Strange that no one rates SE K750/W800 or Nokia N95 as ground breaking.
Nokia Lumia is a Windows Mobile phone, is it not? If so, the Xperia was not your last Windows Mobile phone.
paintbuckets, 04 Mar 2018How does it feel to use Symbian in 2018? Don't you think you're missing out alot? Like apps? P... moreThe Nokia browser 8.3 already supported html5 and even flash lite back in the flash days. Youtube still works. Browsing mobile sites is still managable. I use it in conjunction with Opera web browser for browsing desktop sites.. There is also UC browser but pages are not rendered correctly.. For social apps, Whatsapp has been cut off last year but Wechat is still accessible though without updates.. Other office apps(Microsoft Office/Quick Office) and tools apps are as good as they were without updates.. For games I still keep the gameloft HD games (Asphalt 6, Spiderman, Dungeon Hunter 2, Eternal Legacy, GT Motor Academy, Avatar) and some other HD games Backbreaker, Transformers and casual game staples like Angry Birds/Rio/Magic, Cut the Rope, Chuzzle.. But the most fun in gaming are the emulators. It has emiPSX for PSX games, PPSSPP for PSP games, GPSP for GBA games, emisnes for SNES games, emines for NES games, emiboy for Gameboy games..
How do I manage all the apps on the (measly) 16GB internal storage? By using microSD of course.. The Nokia 808 supports SDXC(64GB/128GB) with exFAT(can store files larger than 4GB) format no less since 2012.. The magic of Symbian is that it can install apps wholly on the microSD taking zero space of the internal storage.. You can even sort apps into multiple SDs and when inserted the installed app icons will appear accordingly.. Even Android P won't be able to achieve that trick.. That is how advanced Symbian was
If not because of Whatsapp outage I would find no need of android but now I am using a Lenovo A916 for Whatsapp and some Android apps..Now I carry both phones around but the A916 is usually left behind because it does not even has a sim.. I am not on any data plan because my home and work wifi are adequate.. There are also a lot of free wifi hotspots when I am out and about

Sadly the only game-changer I realistically see on the horizon for the next decade or more are foldable screens. Better batteries were a few years away ten years ago and will still be a few years away fifty years from now (much like fusion power)...

Those people are stating what they are gadget junkies and their lives are revolving around phones and gadgets, thereof they are working for gsmarena, it's their passion. It's up to every person preferences, some people don't care about phones and they change them when it does not function anymore and they are normal people :)
True about reaching a ceiling of innovations and sticking with incremental updates. Though Kaloyans rosters reminded me off Motorola V3, had best designed back in the days. Slim, large and beautiful screen, simple and fluid interface. Owned black edition with edge, was really great phone
Thank you so much for sharing your story and it definitely took me back to my memory lane of growing up with smartphones.
Like you, I love gadgets and technology and it is always an endless and vicious pursuit! It is good that you have clammed down to what you need out of the smartphone these days, and likewise us too.
Anyhow, just a quick thank you and I have enjoyed the past 10min of reading and viewing your pictures taken from your old phone.
List of all my phones since my first one in 2000:
Nokia 6610i (my first camera phone)
Nokia 6131 (loved the idea of a clamshell for some reason)
Nokia E51 (stolen; still miss its awesome battery life)
Nokia Lumia 1020
These "Story of articles" make me feel like a looser. I only owned 6 so far and i change my phone every 2-3 years.
I agree with the last word, i want settle with one phone with great perfomance and good batreey for a few year im tired change phone each 2-3 year
Well done,Kaloyan...I`m with ya about one device of them all,SE K800,mighty thing back then, still with me but I lost charger and so on,camera really was awesome..You say gigabytes of photos,haha...many of them actually...
when changing phones regularly ,itÂ’s best to have a nokia 3digit dual sim at disposal
Nokia 6101..., Samsung D600,U600.... lgk10,...and more all dead i don't want any more phones, they breaks to fast.
Hi Kaloyan, I found the past phone color is either black white or silver but nowadays more color found, some of the phones even show more than one color on the same surface when different viewing angle. So what color of the phone do you like the most? My opinion is the smartphone's design and shaped also affect the color of aesthetic and looking.
