People just buy Apple watches to show off and say they can afford one. Too bad it'll be dead and probably be thrown away after 1-2 years once the battery becomes to weak.

When a smartwatch totally replaces my phone I'll buy one, it's just another way for apple to grab peoples money on an extra device to go with their iPhone

The Samsung Gear Sport has Spotify music and saves tracks, GPS for tracking distances you run, tracks your steps, and enhances your calorie counting and nutrients taken. I'm doing this long term - 1 year to stabilize my health. This thing helps, and it could prevent me from more serious health problems.

All the other stuff it does are bonuses like notifications, watch faces, and being able to answer messages quickly by voice dictation, gestures, keyboard or prepared responses.

I do not like smarwatches too, i consider just useless, tasteless marketing gimmicks, but i have a 1500 euro Longines chronograph. Smartwatches can be useful when driving and fun, but let's do not discuss about 50$ Casio.

For everything else, I pick up my phone, which unless I'm sleeping, is clipped
to my belt. I don't "need" an over expensive "fashion statement" that has a 1-2
day battery life, and, is not bullet proof from damage.

i've been using a LG Urbane for a few years now and the reason i love it is because it's evolved to fill my needs, so these days it's used for me to play games during quiet periods at work as we aren't aloud phones, before that it was an MP3 player that i synced to a bluetooth speaker, before that it was a fitness tracker. and besides those reason i've also used it to help when i've been visiting places with google maps so my handset isn't on display for someone to snatch. i've used it to send quick text replys when i've not been able to answer the phone. i've even been able to distract my nephew by letting him look through all the different screen options. so to say a smartwatch is pointless and has no use to to be very closed minded and have no clue what it is your talking about. it may not fit a purpose for you but don't lump everyone together.

I only wear one of those gadgets when I go running and for this purpose my Huami Amazfit is more than enough. For every other instance I prefer a real watch.

I'm still wearing Mi Band 2. Xiaomi makes a too good device that lasts too long (I charge every 2 months), this could slow down their wearable sales because people have very few reason to upgrade.
