I still couldn't care less about my phone's weight. 190 grams feels next to nothing (like air), so there's no need to bother myself about that. This kind of weight shouldn't be an issue at all. :-D 1 kg or something like that would be a bit different story, that you could actually feel!

It is a bit absurd talking about the ideal weight unrelated to the size....

For most phablets the statement holds though.
But the 170g might be a tad on the lo side for a huge phablet.
and 140 would be quite heavy for a phone-sized device of say 60mm width.

And thus there are only a few available in either group:

I still reckon the best weighted phone is the HTC One m7, the htc 10 is too light for its size

Alien , 03 Mar 2018I don't know why, but if a phone is too light it gives me the feeling that it's cheap and not ... moreTrue, that is why Beats headphones put metals inside to give them a heavy feel, but real quality headphones in the old days were actually heavy because of the premium material they used.

its ok saying glass and metal outsells platic phones but of course it will none of the top makers use plastic and more not in their flagships or midrange. Id buy a plastic phone if it was up to spec.
The days of a 110g or less phone are gone if your wanting decent inards.
I also thing that 200g and above is too heavy for comfort use. you would need large strong hands to be able to do one handed use or hold it to your ear for long periods.
For these reasons i can see why around 150g is the happy medium for weight and usability, and also got the most votes.

Alien , 03 Mar 2018I don't know why, but if a phone is too light it gives me the feeling that it's cheap and not ... moreWell if you see the Galaxy Alpha, it had the best specs of the time, and weighed only 115 grams. It also turned heads during my times with it because of its looks. And it passes with flying colors in the drop test videos too, with no crack on the glass!

I don't know why, but if a phone is too light it gives me the feeling that it's cheap and not strong enough to last.
So give me a heavy one :)
I don't mind, but make sure to have a BIG battery!
