The display was hopeless for video, it was all smeared up in scenes with a little motion. Further i had to allow google to install apps on my Nokia on their own discretion, the terms clearly stated i was responsible for removing those unwanted apps if i was getting low on storage. Not to mention that all apps was given rights to collect any personal data. How was that my phone? If i pay for a phone and not getting to chose whats on it? You cant live like that, so high maintenance having to go through all kinda weird apps some suspicious devs from Kazakstan and India pays google to install on my phone?

Im buying one for my 13 year old daughter. Its not that expensive, just look at Galaxy S9/S9+ prices and youll see that X is actually worth the price. Factor in the retained value on the used market and things are like they have always been: iPhones cost a little more to buy but are worth much more after 1-2 years use, in total cost of ownership iPhone is the cheapest.
OK, so this differs a bit in the USA since so few americans actually own their own phones (or pay full price) and sim-free phones still havent made any big breakthroughs there, but in W.Europe and Asia iphones are clearly the cheaper option over time, i guess in Russia too. Its however important to not look at for sale ads, any optimist can advertise a Galaxy S6 for 300 euro but that doesnt mean he get it. In fact if anyone would pay 300 for an S6 i will be happy to provide him with lots of them for 250 each, thats still a great profit to me.

Who wrote this article? It talks about sales and higher price bracket and ends with the note "Will 2018 be the year that Apple pushes for more innovation in the smartphone space?" Made no sense. Should have concluded - Will Apple reduce prices in 2018?

Just read all the safety data for the iris scanning and you will see the difference - dont come closer than 20cm, dont use if dizzy, dont use if youre epileptic.... thats something they dont mention in the promos.
I dont care about both phones, just saying that people need to inform themselfes before comparing.

i lost my iPhone 7 plus and had to settle for a 2016 Samsung c7 for about 280 dollars. it is really good, it has no lag, plays any game, plays any video format, has a full HD 5.7 inch 16:9 AMOLED screen, 16mp and 8mp camera combo, 3.5 audio jack and an aluminium unibody design and of course a fingerprint sensor. I am never buying an expensive phone again

I work as a system developer, with great interest in hardware. I'm well aware about what I'm buying. It's about priorities. It's great for you that you are happy with your 500 euro phone. But saying it's "stupid" to buy a more expensive phone that that is just narrow-minded. Again, its about priorities.

Most people on iPhone already outgrow 64gb, so the... moreIt's expensive for a phone, no doubt about it but what you are willing to pay for a phone is personal. The fact that its was the most sold available iPhone (and most likely smartphone model in general) in Q4 tells us alot of people are still willing to pay for it, even at this price.
I use my phone alot, I really like Apples ecosystem (using MBP both at work and home so yes am very aware of it's cost :)) and I want the best they have to offer when I get a new phone. Would I mind paying less for it? Definitely not, but they did not step over the line for what I personally would pay for something that I use that much.
Do "most people" think its worth this kind of money for a phone? Of course not, most people don't think any flagship phone is worth the price, that is why the majority of smartphones sold globally are cheap Androids.

Just to give you a perspective.. it’s more expensive then a fully decked 10.5 inch iPad Pro.. it’s on par with 12.9 inch iPad Pro price, you can get a 4k iMac..
The reason for this phone estimation failure is the price point. Doesn’t matter how good it is, nothing can justify the price. So yeah.. enjoy your phone, you just can’t convince most people (Apple fan included) even if it’s gd.

I bought a Motorola Moto X4 that has EVERYTHING I need: a wonder processor, a big screen, an extraordinary performance, good battery life, and a spectacular design. And only for 290 euros. A good smartphone should never surpass 500 euros.
Everything that is more than 500 euros is out of place and is not understood, so do not be surprised at all in Apple that do not sell, because other brands offer almost the same as iPhone X and 700 euros lower ... because people are not stupid when they go to buy.
